Great video! I'm going to Glacier next week. First time and has been on my bucket list to do this road....and it's because of the opening from The Shining. Already went to The Timberline Lodge in Oregon in Feb and it was beautiful and in January went to The Stanley hotel in Colorado. All due to this movie.

Very cool! Big fan of “The Shining” in both movie and book forms. I was wondering if people are allowed to swim or boat out to that small island that is featured in the opening flyover shot.

You can ride a boat tour that takes you pretty close to that little island.

Love this. One of my all time favorite films. Why didn’t you show the interior of the Timberline Lodge/Overlook Hotel ? And don’t use the excuse that the interior in the film was actually a soundstage in the UK 😊

What a great video Diver Wil The Shining is one of my favorite films and I have seen it hundreds of time -- and that's no exaggeration! LOL. I've always wondered where exactly the intro was filmed ... and now I know! Isn't the footage at 1:10 incredible? Imagine the skill and timing of the helicopter pilot to fly that close to the road and that close to the VW Bug. Thanks for such an informative video, Diver!
