I genuinely believe that someone could write a doctorate on this entire project and its subsequent data. The ingenuity required plus the setting of a gargantuan sandbox is like a once-in-a-lifetime ant farm. This all had to take place with people not knowing they were being tracked to make sure the data was clean, and I don't think it'll happen again for a long time.

A doctorate needs to solve a question or at least explore one. I'm not sure if there's any worthwhile question that could be explored other than the human psychology. Then you'd also have to explore multiple servers to get worthwhile data. If it was just a general report and not answering a question, Fit's already got a headstart on that in his last video. Someone could spend heaps of time writing up a report in detail how it was done and how we could learn from it, that would be really interesting. It might be hard as a random to get all the data from the hackers though

@@casejordan4383 uh.. Not really.. First of all, there are people who found a way to avoid being tracked, and there is an entire video by Fit, dedicated to it, made not so long ago.. Second, depends on what can be considered a base, because there are a lot of buildings all over the server, and griefing them all is practically griefing the entire server, which is a huge task even if you know the location of everything.

True. Pay $20 or expect to wait hours or even more than half a day just to join. If something goes wrong and you're disconnected, you're back at the end of the line again.

Me basically. I got tired of sailing over the endless, rubberbanding, kicking me out of my boat oceans. I've got so many other interests and things I ought to be doing. Plus 2b will never be worth playing again with the insane wait times and there are plenty of other large anarchy servers spanning several years.

If a player is willing to sit through the queue then it’s safe to assume they know what 2b2t is and are more willing to overlook the other flaws, if anything 7% is fairly low

@Hernando Malinche wrong, the main reason people never join the server is the queue. If a player never joins the server they are not counted as a new player. That 7% is a value which describes all players who have sat through the queue already. Hence my original comment.

As destructive as the data Nocom gathered is, it is incredibly useful for archival purposes.

True. When I first watched his Nocom video, all I thought was that this would be preservationist's dream. Every base automatically downloaded and archive. Plus a full version history of each base. This data could also be very interesting to behavioral & data scientists. But opening it for everyone to download would mean every base would be griefed and all players would have to start from zero.

Most of the block stuff like terracotta, wool, and redstone was likely a byproduct of the actual exploit (they could just generate stats through the copy world the exploit generated), but yeah its amazing they went as far as potion slot trends...

I always hear how rough it is to escape spawn, I walked 5000 blocks out without seeing a soul. sure I had to walk dodge some withers and bridge over some crazy gaps, but all in all I made it just fine. made myself a crafting table after finding some trees, made a small hut at 22,000 or so (it's probably gone by now, haven't logged in, in like 12 months). but it's not that bad.

Do they still have /kill enabled? I seem to remember that incredibly convenient command when I jumped on and spawned in a less than ideal location. I just kept intentionally offing myself until I spawned somewhere convenient and started to move on.

I remember when you released that first video on Nocom, I had the thought that it may have been used to grief bases, but it could also be used to keep a record of ungriefed versions of bases in a way that could be so much better than just screenshots. Imagine being able to walk through the builds that are nothing but a few pieces of original rubble and lavacasts like they would’ve been when the build was completely standing…

Why would other anarchy servers look at anything else other then 2b2t and how those exploits work on that server. Only makes sense to see what hausemaster does and patch accordingly. Their, exploit is no more

well we didnt know maybe todays too some of the so called hackers that makes all of this exploits was some hired white hat,black hat and some Computer and Science Enginering that god bored and play some games, but in the end they want to know what possibilities while being restricted PS:Maybe Elon Musk is there on 2b2t? we dont know since he didnt tell us(might because if he did his base got Nuked lol) or maybe even notch himself secretly plays on that server using not the Notch Account

I played on this server sometime in 2012-2013 and had no idea what it was hahahaha i kept getting killed and gave up after 12 hours. some one kept finding me even after digging and covering the hole with dirt. it's crazy at the time I thought 2b2t was just another server. Thanks for the videos Fit!

We cannot see the whole 10 years because the hack was active only 3 years, so, maybe only the tracking of those 3 years, the other 7 years might he lost data
