I have been in Japan for a year now... I concur. It wasn't immediate, but about 4 or 5 months into my time here in Japan's countryside, I found myself feeling like I was letting out a breath I had somehow been holding onto my entire life... I was walking back to my apartment after drinking at the ramen shop nearby... It was 1am and I suddenly stopped, looked around at how still and quiet everything was and felt like "Wow... I can breathe..."

@NUMBER ELEVEN Sorry. I wouldn't know anything about that. I'm not Asian, nor do I come from a "black country". Considering the specificity of the topic of this video, and the fact that you are curious about the exact opposite thing, I'm sure there is a more appropriate place for your question... On a different video addressing just that perhaps? Don't know if one exists, but it wouldn't hurt for you to look.

I felt the same feeling when I visited seaside Odaiba. Usually in Amerikkka Im stressed out in crowds because everybody looks at you crazy here. In japan, they just stare, and you smile back and say a greeting, they reciprocate, sometimes I just wanted to cry, othertimes I felt bad for being so upset over Amerikkka in their country. Naomi E Why will there opinion be any different now, I understand if you’re were talking about the folks that are living in China because China completely mishandle the containment of the virus. But at this point COVD 19 is causing havoc pretty much on the entire world, so no country is safe from the virus except South Korea and Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asia they seem to be doing better than US and Europe in handling the virus for now. So if I was someone not living in the US or Europe I will be interested in how people that live there are holding out because from what the world is seeing the US is not doing well especially now because other countries are closing their borders to Americans.

Its definitely the media and its also the generational racism that white people keep teaching to their kids🤦🏾‍♀️ as a black person we aren't bad people, we're great when we are respected just like any other person, but America was built on the bare back of racism and sadly those same ideals have been taught through multiple generations so people still think horrible things about us and its not fair...

This documentary is very shallow and poorly researched, and the comments of those interviewed are extremely naive. For example: (1) Chinese are just as racist as White people [@JU94]; (2) Japanese car companies based in the United States repeatedly lost law suits for discriminating against Black UAW members and others [@t; and (3) as reported by the CIA Fact Book, the largest ethic groups in Japan are the Japanese at 98.1%, followed by Chinese at 0.5%, Korean at 0.4%, and all other ethnic groups (including Filipino, Vietnamese, and Brazilian) by 1%. Black people are blatantly insignificant in Japan and throughout Asia, and consequently, they are not perceived as a threat. However, "if" Black people (especially Black men) existed as a dominate demographic in business, sports, entertainment, etc., we can expect Japan (which supported racist Germany in WWII), China, etc., to do exactly like White people (@t.

I would be grateful if black Americans can help me understand why they feel safer moving to Asia than Africa? Anyone out there that help me make sense of this video?

@@rayhchc6451 - It's probably because black people who move to Asia feel they are less subjected to the plethora of negative projections they're subject to in the West. They're definitely safer from police brutality. And tragically, they're safer from being preyed upon by other black people.

I am a Japanese high school student. This video felt very fresh. I think most Japanese people recognize whether they are Japanese or not. So it has nothing to do with blacks or whites. You may feel the line of sight. But that's because blacks are rare. Some people want to be black because of hip-hop and black culture. The prejudice against blacks is that they are tall, good at dancing & good at singing lol By the way, until now I couldn't understand the "black cultural appropriation problem". I really like nice hairstyles, dance and all kinds of black culture. But we Asians were skeptical that they couldn't imitate. "Blm" taught me a lot. In the West, I didn't know how hard I was feeling (I knew it, but I thought it was different now), so I was very shocked. If you think a black person is discriminated against by a Japanese person, please know that it is not malicious. (It's not malicious, but it's very sad to hurt my heart.) Japan has to change, but I think it will take some time. When the corona pandemic is over, please come visit us in Japan! ((I used Google Translate, so I'm sorry if it's a strange sentence))

You are a real human being so sweet and innocent a perfect creation of God so humane and loving please stay 🙏 ❤️ 💕 so loving because God is love. God in his infinite wisdom 🙏 created man in his own image 🙏 . Something happened when the Morning Star in the Bible sinned in thought and a war saw Michael and the angels kicked the Morning Star out of Heaven. The deviant turned into a super corrupted monster and snake, evil, deceitful and depraved. A war is being fought in the minds of humans. The enemy whispers depravity and inhumanity in the minds of men and their character, their soul becomes a reflection of the Monster. Satan wants man to join him and his demons when they are all locked in hell for eternity where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. The Word was in the begining and became man, He lived amongst men; but the world knew Him not. He came to atone for our sins, He was crucified and died to put to pay for the sins of man as Jesus was the son of man. He was in the tomb for three days, He rose again. 🌹 when rising he went down into hell and took the key and left as hell had no business with Him as He was without blame. Witnesses saw Jesus and that the stone had been moved. Believe that Jesus is real and chase all evil thoughts from your mind. Love God ❤️ 😍 He loves us. Believe that we can be free from all evil and that the flesh dies but our spirit and our soul live forever. God loves ❤️ 😍 you Hallelujah ❤️.

Let me say one thing as a Japanese. Someone may treat black people differently from Japanese, but that never means we are racist! They just don't get used to 'foreigners' 😂 As you guys know, Japan is an island and many people don't have opportunities talking with foreigners so much. However, once they find nationality doesn't matter, they will definitely help you! Of course I'm willing to!! Japan is one of the safest countries. If you leave your wallet somewhere, most people deliver it to the police and your money, credit card, or passport are returned to you! Even if your are a girl, you don't need to give up solo trip here! Come to Japan everybody after corona crisis🇯🇵🙌

I never experienced the level of racism American black people have. I don't fear any race in Canada, there is racism anywhere you go but no where on the level of the black Americans. I do suggest you to tell anyone you know that everyone outside of America that is black, comes from a totally different experience ( we all think the American culture towards black people is literally sociopathic!!!! ). I think you all should leave and go where you are accepted - period. there is safety, you can create it or go where your people is. Trust me, there is love from your people globally just not in America. Dont be afraid of leaving America, they literally make their nation think all you need is America. Damn, that first man you interviewed. The way that interview started was so intense and real!! Wow!! I don't recall experiencing racism as a hispanic man living in Texas most of my life but when I put myself in the shoes or others its upsetting to think that some people have this continuous additional challenge to overcome in order to be successful and be happy. I know racism is very real and I'm glad that most people, regardless of background, work hard everyday to overcome those challenges in life and make the world a better place. Great documentary!

This is beautiful.. thank you for sharing this video. Its crazy to know that many people in America (local or international) do not know the TRUE history of America regarding what really happened to Blacks centuries ago and how they were treated because nothing was published in American history books to learn about it. There were a plethora of inventors, scientists , writers, etc. Just recently, I had a 70yr Caucasian couple chat with me about a movie that they saw 'Harriet '.. They were almost in tears and told me that it (the movie)was hard to watch.. They said that they were embarrassed about this American history and wanted to share their emotion with me... I was sooo moved by that! Thank you again for giving your viewers an opportunity to see Japan thru your eyes...
