Freemasons DO NOT Worship or revere Lucifer or Satan. All Masons are men of faith; in the USA most are Christian though we have many men who are Jewish or Muslim and a few of various other faiths- depending on the Grand Lodge.
The idea that Masons are connected to Lucifer comes from two basic sources: a misunderstood passage in Morals & Dogma by Albert Pike which DOES NOT say Masons worship Lucifer as the Light-Bearer. It rather specifically says that Lucifer brings FALSE light and feeble-minded people can be controlled by it.
Secondly, the idea comes from the writings of the Leo Taxil, a french writer who hoaxed Freemasonry and the Catholic Church as part of a personal vendetta. His works are often directly quoted by people who are opposed to Freemasonry, without realizing that Taxil CONFESSED to the entire thing being a hoax!
It is called "The Lie That Will Not Die"- the connection between Freemasonry & Lucifer "the light bearer".

Catholic non-Mason here, but with Masonic relatives. Thanks for the sane, reasonable response to the issues raised. My own readings of the history of church and masonry (of church extensive, of masonry less so) leads me to same conclusions. Good wishes to the Masons and to good people who seek to make good people better.

Another great lesson from the Scottish Rite. This Fraternity has been a blessing to my community and myself. Lodges in my area give a backpack with a years worth of school supplies to schools in my area. No Masonic logo on anything. It still makes me giggle / cry when people say they love the Shriners and think they are doing Gods work and then say Masons are evil. If I ever thought I was not doing Gods work I would step away. Amen brother! I am a prince hall mason out of Arizona jurisdiction. I am a Christian and my relationship with Christ has been more real than ever before. I believe that Jesus is the only way to be saved, however, there are brothers that do not believe the same, I find it a bit unfortunate, however, masonry is not some sort of form of salvation. It is a fraternity. When I come to lodge, and there are other brothers of different faiths, it does not bother me, because we are not there to discuss faith, but rather we discuss on how to make the community that we live in a better place, and how we can help others. I believe in this so strongly, I had to break it off with my fiancé, because she bought in to the lie, that I worship Satan. Her buying into that idea is like many others, and it is written in the Bible that Satan is the accuser of the brethren. I think God for you brother for bringing truth!

Im glad you doing this because I wanted to join the local lodge near me in Yorkshire but I got put off because of these rumours online about satanic rituals etc and getting assassinated if you leave blah blah but now you clearing that up I always wanted to join because I'm thirsty for knowledge and brotherhood and opportunities etc

I do know that there are masons who are interested in more esoteric faiths, but a brothers higher power is their own. As long as we follow our obligations and ever walk as such before God and man I do not see the problem.

As to the comment about spoken vs read, punctuation matters in written. The phrase “Look in the road ahead” vs “Look in the road, a head” illustrates that point. I really enjoy the videos as a SR Mason.

We do not worship or revere Lucifer in any way. And for the record (please look this up) NOWHERE in the Bible does it say Lucifer and Satan are the same or that Lucifer is a fallen angel. Those ideas come from works of fiction from Dante and John Milton. Everyone just THINKS it’s scripture. It isn’t.

I will answer for both of us. No. I am a Christian. My faith is in Christ, and I believe in the father, son and Holy Ghost. I believe Brent is also Christian. Nothing in Masonry have ever conflicted with my faith in Jesus in any way shape or form. Whoever told you otherwise is a liar. There is no statue of Satan or any other occult figure in any legitimate Masonic lodge. You could go anytime for a tour. I’m sure there’s a lodge in your town. As for Baphomet- ten seconds worth of legitimate research will reveal to you that Baphomet was made up entirely by Phillip the Fair of France in the 1300s. He made it up, and the name is a bastardization of Mahommomen, as followers of Islam were then known. He used it as a made up deity to accuse the knights Templar of heresy so he didn’t have to pay them the money he owed them. Again, anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar. Are you willing to do that 10 seconds of research? Many of US are eagerly waiting.

Thank you for this well explained peace. Although its probably preaching to the choir. But I am a bit annoyed by the use of the image of Baphomet as a representation of Lucifer. Baphomet has nothing to do with Lucifer or Satan for that matter. Baphomet is an alchemical symbol for oneness, all is one, one is all, As above so below, man/animal, male/female, light/dark etc... I know its image is misused by certain groups to represent Lucifer, but I am a bit disappointed you do the same, as its meaning has more esoteric meaning that's closer to Masonic teachings than most people know.

NO. you are incorrect. Baphomet is a slur for Islam first used by Phillip the Fair to slander the Knights Templar. This is the most widely agreed upon theory of that word. Second, the drawing of the sabbatical Goat has all kinds of occult meanings- NONE of them associated with freemasonry in any direct way. Finally, the images I used are taken directly from posters and books by Leo Taxil, the man behind the Taxil Hoax- why do is what this piece is about. This tells me you didn’t watch the video. Which is fine. But don’t comment if you didn’t watch.

Albert pike is just quoting The Bible… Isaiah 14: 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! & Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” So Jesus says he is the bright morning star.. and Isaiah says Lucifer is the son of the morning star, And Albert Pike is bringing the traditions of the Jewish kabbala as well and mixing a multitude of religions Scripture: *Romans 9:23-26 Galatians 2:6-10 John 14:16-18

Your Dad absolutely did not worship Lucifer. That entire thing was a hoax from the 1800s and people refuse to let it go. We have proven this time after time. And many many many professional Christians and clergymen (including Catholics) are masons. We are open to men of all faiths. But satanism or as idiots online say “luciferianism” is not really a faith. “Satan” is based on the Jewish word for adversary- The adversary of God in this case. Since masons must believe in God, any man who worships the Adversary would not be welcome. Rest assured your dad was likely a Christian too. You pass no such thing. You may pass the emblem of the order of the Eastern star. That is a 5 point star- it is the Eastern star, aka the star of Bethlehem. The 5 point star was used by Christians before the cross came into fashion. It represented the 5 wounds of Christ. The star didn’t become used by occultists until the 1800s. Set aside your paranoia, and do just a little research to check my facts. I promise you’ll see I’m correct and there’s nothing scary at a Masonic lodge.

Pike never gave any such speech. That lie has been repeated so long, foolish people think it's the truth. That lie comes from the Taxil Hoax, which was a 19th century hoax by a guy named leo taxil who wanted to discredit Freemasonry AND the church, both of whom rejected him because he was essentially a pornographer. Don't take my word for it, google it, the same way you googled that silly and bogus quote.

My Uncle is a Freemason and me. I'm just a regular brick Mason. It's funny how if you look at things from one dimension. You get one answer but if you look through other sides like Freemasonry, kind of teach is a lot of esoteric knowledge and symbolism. It's funny how the universe works like I said. I'm a brick Mason and my Uncle is a Freemason. I looked at everything through an open mind and instead of believing all the conspiracy stuff I decided to listen to morals and dogma. Albert pike speaks with a higher intelligence, I could see how the mass can confuse him.
