The thing about Finegold lectures is that you can never be sure if you're watching something for the second time, or instead if he just happened to make the same jokes for the umpteenth time in a similar order.

Good gamesmanship advice. My intro to the Sicilian was Najdorf. I don't think I put the knight on c6 much, if ever. I think it was because of a Bobby Fisher game, when ... Nbd7 seemed like such a cool move, supporting the knight on f6, leaving the long diagonal for the Bishop after ... b5. I was never very coherent about when to do what. I'm coming to like ... Nc6, more, after watching GJ_Chess channel and this video.

At 40:07 the move white should play is Queen x A4 defending the bishop , defending the check mate on C2 and very important attacking the E1 black‘s rook. Then if black knight takes bishop , rook D5 X A5 bishop and the white rook ‘ s on A5 can oppose the black C1 rook on C5.IF C1 rook takes C5 White check mates Queen takes rook on E1.

@climbscience4813
@climbscience4813 4 жыл бұрын
I wondered the same thing. One thing he could do is pawn to f6, the pawn on g7 is pinned and he would lose the bishop if he takes with it. However, if you then take on g7 with the rook, the king can still go to h8. I guess the trick is to get the queen involved somehow. If you get your queen on g7 it's game over. Don't know the exact line for that though.

Guys I have a quick question; around 40:20 when he asks what move defends everything, isn't bishop e5 a pretty good defensive move? it could go something as: bxe5, kxe5 rxe5, and finally maybe h4 to defend the rook on e5?

To me, the English attack is far more common, especially with lower rated players. Also, I think the move d6 at 4:35 is an inaccuracy, used to have bad games whenever I played it. Sicilian works much better for me since I started developing the B knight to d7 instead of c6. (first d6, then Nd7.) People dont capture with the queen on d4 unless g6 has already been played, which I dont recommend doing so early. Just sharing thoughts and experience.

Most likely you play Najdorf, then Nd7 is natural and almost a must. Ben doesn't play Najdorf.
