Part one of my project to walk from Land's End to Ness Point - the furthest western point of England to the furthest eastern point.
It's a distance of around 500 miles. As you know, I had hoped to walk this all in one go but I had a few very wet days which rubbed some nasty blisters.
They didn't get chance to heal sadly so I had to call a halt to the challenge.
It's not the end though. I will complete it and walk to Ness Point, it's just going to take a little longer and will probably be done in stages. But it will get done!
I'm raising money for Parkinson's UK.
I caught the bus to Land's End and set off along the beautiful coast path to Sennen Cove. Sadly once away from the coast, the footpaths are not well maintained and so I had to mainly stick to quiet roads, which probably didn't help my feet!
I passed through the lovely villages of St Buryan, Sheffield and Paul before picking up the coast path again at Newlyn and following it back to Penzance and the Youth Hostel, where my tent was pitched. Around 14 miles for my first day.
