You're right, the worst thing about this story is that what should be epic fights between gods turns them into quick and boring deaths with gods who use their powers in the most boring ways possible or who don't even use their powers at all. When they have infinite potential for interesting fights and interactions between gods but not when it seems like they will give us that, everything is interrupted with a boring death, as happened with the relationship between Artemis and Baldur, which was very interesting until they interrupted the story with boring deaths.
