The important thing is using the skills developed through music such as discipline and motivation and apply it to an employable field where you can actually make a living.

You should upload some sound design tutorials. Especially if you know anything on an advanced level. Hardly anyone on here knows much about sound design at all.

@@renosance8941 everything can be learn for free on youtube but when you do find the teachers you like invest into their courses if they have any , remember courses are good because of structure of learning i think many over look that, i took many music course that up my game

@@Kalitayy You don't "get discovered"-- you build your audience, through shared interest in your chosen subject, and having something valuable to teach. Success won't come overnight (if at all), but it's more durable than constantly chasing fads to catch fleeting attention.

Yes often times creators don’t mention the “soft” skills that can aid in one’s journey. Like you said she is charismatic and has a high level of skill. She has a nice speaking voice and on camera presence. She’s used to performing under pressure so that helps with getting over content creation. It’s easier to say technical things people can follow. It would be hard for someone who is an “attractive” musician to say “ Just be attractive and you will have success. That’s how I made it” It sounds vein but we know musicians that have terrible music but are marketable because of their looks.

We’re part of a culture that cares way too much about physical appearance. If you want to make something of yourself, stay in your own lane. Deal with the cards you have. Who cares if someone else is attractive and has success because of it. That’s not you. Discover your own beauty. Especially if you’re an artist

What I love most of all is that she prefaced it by saying that not everyone who is competent, has a niche, or even had some success in the past will want to pursue a career or even public hobby in music. It's exactly where I fall after having some success in my late teens and just losing my drive. When money started becoming a factor, all my passion just went out the window. I still enjoy production, but especially sound design and playing piano (my roots) to this day, but I have absolutely no interest in even sharing anything I do anymore. Maybe with time I'll be able to just enjoy sharing small but interesting things again, but it's just not where I've grown to despite people (somehow) finding and buying my music to this day. It always blows me away that people will stumble into and enjoy things I did 6-8 years ago despite 0 activity on said profiles/platforms. I know I ranted a bit, but realizing that you don't *HAVE* to be a professional musician, producer, etc can really open yourself up to new avenues that still enable you to keep all the joy you have from your creative endeavors without any kind of stress that comes from careership/professionalism in the area. It doesn't make you a failed musician, it doesn't mean you gave up, it simply means that you enjoy it all most when it's just you and your instrument. Music is fundamentally meant to be shared, but like a good joke, the drafts & missteps along the way are things people less familiar with it all typically overlook.

@@marciamakesmusic It's exactly how the world works, you're just misreading what they're saying. They aren't saying your physical appearance is irrelevant. They're saying letting it get in your head is a defeatist attitude. Plenty of artists have found success with a completely anonymous persona for their records. Many people find success who aren't conventionally attractive. The evidence to the contrary that, "that's not how the world works" is all around you. You're just focusing on the negative.

Yes she is great as a pianist. I enjoy her channel a lot. The issue I have with Music these days there is none. It's not like the 60,70 and 80 when people made music and played real instruments. Now a days people just take pre played samples put them together and say they are a musician. Now I have had discussions with people and they tell me that they have skill to do this, TO me it's not a skill if you use someone else pre played samples. To me it's called cheating.

CV's don't mean anything because people lie on them and/or it's hard to validate information on them. It's much safer to hire someone you know who does the job well and you know. Also, CV's don't tell anything about personal traits: You can hire someone with a great CV and they are annoying, hard to comunicate, etc.

@@gustavoturm I couldn't disagree more. If you don't showcase what you do and just write a few words on your CV than yes you are correct. But if you do have much to show for in terms of presentations e.g images, videos, SIGNED documents, things you've done and developed and recommendations from past workplaces (and I have all of those and more) then it does tell an employer that they are now considering a serious hard working candidate for an interview. For the second part you are right, but that's moot because every employer takes a leap of faith when hiring a new guy. Good CV + Portfolio and impressions from past workplaces just mean the likelihood of that guy you hire being annoying, value-less or any other negative trait are lower. There's a reason why the system works, it's the wisdom of past generations.

I'm a young musician but this feels more natural to me. Posting on social media just feels wring, always has. Unfortunately, people of my age increasingly don't operate in this old school, organic fashion. Oh well, get up and try again I suppose.

@@philliplind360 Keep your dream alive and do what you feel is right to do. Consistency will win the long run. And be willing to ask for help. Accept that it is okay to not be perfect and that you're on a journey which everyone else also started not knowing sh*t about what and how to do. Follow your heart, trust your guts and choose friendship over money. That's what I learned. I know I still don't know...

i think she made it pretty clear that she's only speaking about what worked for her. she explicitly said that this way of life, artistry, and motivation is not for everyone. i wouldn't do this personally as someone who isn't seeking a career in music, but i'm really grateful she does post content & personally benefit from it :)

⁠​⁠@@userAAit can absolutely pay for that, and far more. she averages 100-200k views every video (with some getting much more) and posts often. her cpm would be quite high for this type of channel, so that’s easily $1-2k per 100 thousand views (she has 42 million). not to mention, she has a sponsorship on pretty much every video, and I haven’t even mentioned other social media platforms.
