I'm so very thankful that Alan and his son had the awareness to record and keep so much of what he said over time. He was gone 4 years before I was born, but at the same time he still spends time with me nearly everyday and saved my life. I guess you could say he's my guru. Thank You, Alan!!

Life is full of wonderful surprises and I discovered Alan Watts for the first time last month. What a wonderful and insightful human being, hard to believe he has almost been gone fifty years and yet so much of what he speaks of its almost as if it was said recently, amazing. I now make sure I connect with AW on a regular basis to learn, to absorb and to totally remind myself of the joy and dance of life.

When I’m making a painting there’s a sense of loss when it’s finished, because the best most fulfilling part of painting is all in the process not the finished piece. I used to hoard my work. Now I let go of it. In this way I’m letting go of the past. It doesn’t matter what happens to the painting when I release it into parts unknown. For all I know it could land in the dust bin.

Finding yourself is disappontingly easy. You don't even need guidance. Your Self is forever present across all experiences and dimensions, including dreams. It's NEVER missing. What appears to missing is just a part of you that you've forgotten, because you have sent it "out there", on a quest to find what's missing.

Alan has given me the tools to survive this life for many years. I often think of this; if I was alone on an island with everything I needed including the skills to survive, everything I did would be perfect. My actions would be the norm, the standard. How wonderful it would be to remove that dark cloud of negativity of not being adequate! I realize that if I could do this in that situation, I can do it in this situation. All we have to light the way is our own minds. Once we second guess ourselves, we are moving aimlessly in the dark.

I have just found out I no longer have a job, I can't find a new one, I have been searching for the last couple of months but heard nothing back. I am now in the middle of a Typhoon labelled a category red, I am stuck indoors with a hot cup of English breakfast tea and the sound of the rain and heavy-winds up to 200kmph (125mph) pounding against my large glass windows, listening to this remarkable man on my loud speaker. It's a true ASMR experience. Isn't it ironic how we come into this world with nothing, we then try to hold on to things and then we leave with nothing. It feels to me like we are born into a Matrix paradigm until the plug is unplugged on the other side

I like Alan Watts ... He has a very nice calm voice. But I did not leave one religion, Just to get involved in another one, And let someone preach to me and tell me what to think, how to act, how to be. It's not there choice, It's mine ... It is pure joy to listen to Alan Watts but he seems to me to be an nihilist, albeit a positive one. Also, his ”lectures” seems to be based on the paradox of hedonism. There is no meaning to life (nihilism), but to enjoy yourself (hedonism). Life is a game according to Watts. I prefer this before all the monotheistic believes in the Abrahamic religions which have drenched the western civilisations and most of the world in sin and guilt. The meaning of life might be swimming or dancing, if you enjoy those activities. But if I enjoy hunting, polluting or grabbing power, is that equally fine? If I enjoy destroying the environment, killing animals and humans why should I not do that? Many do seem to enjoy killing and destroying while believing in a God that will punish them for those very things. Many even claim their God expects them to kill and destroy (those who believe in other gods). But why should we restrain ourselves according to some version of the golden rule if everything is basically meaningless? It seems to me that humankind is destined to propagate to the point of our own extinction. We keep on multiplying until all the essential resources are consumed. Why are we breeding children for slaughter? To dance before the altar of death and extinction? Do we not have any kind of collective survival mechanism?
