I would say the piece is beautiful, creative and very well made on the one hand. But on the other hand, not too practical if you have numerous leads and would need to make one of these for every one of them.

Bravo. As previously mentioned, ... you obviously have several skills for which you've Mastered. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I've watched it several times. Every element in this presentation was Top Shelf, 1st Class and produced so professionally I'm going to assign my Video Production students to screen it as a project deserving an "A-"! Originally, I assigned "A+" to the video. The "A-" is ... In my own personal and professional opinion ... because of this. I docked you .10 for using ... what is in my own personal opinion ... a totally inappropriate TOOL used for tightening chrome plated >> anythings!! Combination wrench/Spanner. Socket or Nut Driver. .... (or the business ends of those oversized adjustable Pumps taped to prevent TOOL MARKINGS. and your grade raised to "A++" !

I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle kzfaq.infoUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.

Interesting ideas. The performance is excellent, aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. The winding knot is a little wrong, the spool just needs bumpers, in your design the cable rubs against the body. Otherwise very nice, the idea with the bearings and loose cable cord is great. Beautiful cord reel. True craftsmanship BUT you could save a lot of time and money and just buy a commercially made one online for about 25 to 30 dollars. They would be just as functional and you won't care in the least if you drop it and scratch it all up, which is inevitable. BTW...I really enjoyed watching this build. Thanks.

Very nice piece of woodworking but not practical. Most power tools have specs on the length and gauge of extension cord to use to avoid burning up the motor. I've rarely if ever seen a tool that calls for a power cord longer than 50 feet. For example, a DEWALT grinder has a 13 amp rating and would require a 10 gauge cord at 100 feet. A 10 gauge cord is pretty thick and heavy at that length. Just something to consider.

Needs an electric motor to wind it up. Make a narrow first plate that goes diagonically from corner to coner on the outer frame (can even use the existing bolts). Make a second plate that attaches to the outer edge of the inner drum 180 degrees apart (i.e., the diameter). At the center of the second plate weld something (call it a drill bit) a drill can atttach to that extend perpendicualr from the second plate. Drill a hole in the first plate at the center so that the "drill bit" will extend through the hole. Then one can use a cordless drill to wind up the power cord.

A lot of work just for a cable reel, which has such a large internal diameter, reduces amount of cable plus constand twisting, throwing of plug end will eventually cause cable breakdown. That's why commercially made ones have the socket fixed to the reel. Nice bit of router work though and never seen the downward clamp on a pillar drill before.

@hand_craft - Your projects are amazing and I hope that you aren't taking the rude people to heart. This particular one, you might consider modifying slightly for the sake of cord longevity. I can't tell exactly what you did for the hole in the drum but if it is just a hole you might want to make sure that the cord won't be forced to make a 90° turn. Maybe you already did, since it looks loose? Anyway I've got my fingers crossed that it's something like a slot with well-rounded edges, and maybe a bit of a slope at the end 🤞🤞. P.S.: Mysteries are fun, but I suspect you'd probably have a wider reach in the algorithm if you at least put the name of the item as a hashtag in the description or something, plus people would then be able to find you when they're looking into those particular things. I guess sometimes it bumps up the view rate because after I watched the latest one I had to skip to the end of several videos to see if there were any more good projects for woodworkers, but I ran out of steam before I got through more than a few and spoiled the results more than a noun would have. If it's something that matters to you, I'm pretty sure that you can change titles, thumbnails, and descriptions after they've been uploaded, so you could test the effect on old videos or on new ones, and then do whatever you want after you see the stats. Totally get it if you're just a maker who likes to share, though 👍👍. Thank you for sharing your cool ideas, and please pardon my unsolicited thoughts.
