The 1980s and 1990s were a different time, namely lower house prices. This aspect of the show hasn't aged well now. The Simpsons are meant to financially struggle in seasons 1-4, yet they've got a big home, 3 kids, a cat a dog and 2 cars and Marge is a fulltime housewife. If this was created today they'd do it pretty differently.

Crickey Homer must have been getting paid really well to be able to afford a house like that. It's true when Frank Grimes called it a palace because it really is nothing short of a palace in comparison to your average home. So spacious, detached, three bathrooms and what looks like 6 bedrooms (if you count the small room downstairs too), massive kitchen, backyard, garage, TV room, lounge and dining room. Only thing missing is a pool. I want this house!! 😩

Honestly this house is incredible and the dream. Tons of space, family room, living room, dining room and a den. 4 bedrooms upstairs. 3 bathrooms. Decent garage with room for tools and projects. Basement and attic for tons of storage. Spacious back yard with a treehouse. Decent amount of space from the neighbors houses.

This shows all the features of Simpsonhouse, except that the bathroom and rumpus room are switched.

I swear the layout changes between episodes. In particular, where the basement is and where the bathroom is. I think it’s the episode where Patty or Selma are about to get married to a man by mistake where the bathroom is on the side not at end of the corridor.

So basically the house consists on: -Basement: used as a laundry room and for storage -First Floor: It has a dinning room, a living room, a play room, a TV room, a big kitchen, a bathroom and the garage. -Second floor: 3 regular bedrooms, 1 master bedroom with a full bathroom, and 1 common bathroom. -Attic: Big space for storage and unused furniture. -Front yard: It has enough space for two cars in front of the garage, a sidewalk and a green area. -Back yard: It has a big garden, a patio for grills, and a tree house on top of a big tree. Damn, it was one big house indeed.
