I was eager to play The Simpsons Game (2007) for the first time recently, and decided to make a video sharing thoughts about it. This video includes some things I felt might have informed its development, and where it currently stands among other games featuring The Simpsons.

So what are your favorite Simpsons games? The original arcade game, Virtual Bart and Wrestling are ones I remember pretty fondly.

I loved the Wii Version of this game, lol. Had a lot of the same problems but I still love it. Hit and Run looks cool but I've only played like an hour at a friend's house

For me, it's both this game and Hit & Run. I've played these two games a lot and had a lot of fun with them. They really hold a special place in my heart.

Funnily enough, while not exactly a remake, there's this guy called "Gato del tejado" that's creating a mod in which he's upgrading all the textures including giving the graphics of this game to the character models. He has also reanimated all of the cutscenes in 2D and it looks identical to the show.

It’s flawed but I still enjoyed it at least it wasn’t a EA game that was broken and had micro transactions but I respect your opinion

I imagine everyone has already roasted him on this but hey, if I don't join a trend what else am I gonna do with my life? That was not Simpsons Road Rage gameplay at the beginning of the Video, that was Hit and Run, get your story straight, one was a good game, the other was not

I thought the Video Game Cliches were pointless. I mean, sure, they’re aware that these ideas have used in pretty much every game in existence, but they don’t do anything to try and shake things up. Like “Obvious Weak Spots” for Lard Lad. It would’ve been pretty clever if Bart touched the circuits, he gets knocked off and the player has to find another way to bring Lard Lad down.

If they ever remaster this, they should let all the characters be aware of this and you could get a new ending if you let bart or homer, with bart's suggestion since you control them, do something to change their path or something, as flawed as this game is, if they remastered the game and kept the self referential stuff and make new voice lines that maybe comment occasionally on the old, and I think it'd do well(sounds more productive than how EA handle the sims)

When you said simpsons road rage at 1:07 you actually showed simpsons hit and run which was 1 million times better than road rage

In my opinion the graphics in The Simpsons Game are better but I think that The Simpsons Hit And Run is better.

I didn't have a huge issue with the graphics choices, just things seemed a bit flat overall. My issue is more with the lack of audio and visual tools to help the player.

Great video, only thing that made me pull my hair out was that every time you showed gameplay of the Simpsons Hit and Run you'd be talking about Road Rage lol

Ya got me! I wrote and recorded the script before I knew what footage I could obtain in a timely fashion. I kind of set a deadline for myself with this video, so I just had to make do with what I could get, if that meant cutting a few corners.

My all time favorite game I used to play when I was young beat it like 50 times on the PS3 ending up selling it to GameStop for $2 and now it's worth $100 anywhere you look.

When I was a kid and I only played the ps2 version which I’m happy about because seeing the open world isn’t something that I like in this version either. I was very confused when seeing that there was a version with a open world

I played the wii version. I believe it is very different with some of the areas and bosses were very different for the better. The levels with marge were very good compared to the other version. I believe the wii version for gameplay while the ps3 and Xbox version are better for graphics and collectibles. But I do agree with some of the things said here, but I believe there is something better about the wii version compared to the ps3.

I remember each different version on each different console had levels that would be completed differently I remember I played Xbox and a friend I knew couldn't beat the Donkey Kong Boss I went over thinking "I know this boss like the back of my hand" Left that house thinking "what fuckin game was I playing?"

The most frustrating thing with this game was Marge's level with the building houses and getting across the ocean using ice! And saving lenny and Karl, the gh bit was hard when I was a kid, I struggled like mad with the donkey Kong level and medal of homer level, those nba character annoyed me too much and mkving those crates or something right at the end

While I agree that the so-called final boss is insanely lame, I'll disagree with you on everything else, including all the other bosses. And it's not the game's fault if you somehow got stuck somewhere in the dolphin level

I completed this game on PS2 as a teenager, and back then I loved it. Now I decided to replay it and I'm just baffled. The combat sucks, the platforming sucks, the puzzles suck. What does the game even have besides these? What made me like it so much as a teen?

Wow, PS3 Simpsons seems way, WAY less cool than PS2/Wii Simpsons. I'll admit, they still share most of the things you list as problems, but even still, I never realised just how off the rails they took the PS3 port. It's like a completely different game! Wild.

I played the ps2 version and I don't remember most of anything in this video. I thought all versions were the same.

DS Version is made by a completely different developer. PSP is an extremely striped back version of the console games. PS2 and Wii versions are a little stripped back but still a much larger experience. Xbox 360 and PS3 version are the full, complete versions.
