TIP: buy the small aquarium (Poseidon's Adventure Aquarium), and watch it as many times at once as you can. It's just a short animation everytime, so you don't have to wait much, and it will boost the FUN level, like nobody's business! Quick and silent. :D

so i started to fall asleep watching this but every now and again James chimes in with a "haven't you people ever heard of flashing the goddamn toilet? " no, its much better to face these kinds of thing with a sense of poise and rationality.

Even though we have sims 2-4, I miss playing 1 so much! I had so much fun, even the expansion packs were great. Makin magic was my favourite! If I had a computer and the knowledge to make the game run, I'd play this like a shot.

This is why this game still holds up to this day. It's not so much about simulation anymore, but much about turn-based strategy. I mostly play it on pause and third speed. If you want challenge, which I find severe lack in later games where I just get bored after playing more than 5 minutes, Sims 1 and 2 still provide you with that "planning ahead phase" challenge.

When you were making the family you didn't give them many points in the cleanliness department, so they are all pretty messy Sims.

James, I think I might be the only person in the world willing to see a The Sims 2 for Playstation 2 gameplay, like unlocking all the stuff and vacation lots, all that jazz. I've been wanting to see that again, 'cause I have so many good memories from TS2 PS2. It was the very first game I've ever played. I don't have high hopes that you'll be actually bothered to play that, but oh well, I thought I'd ask. Thanks, man!

you should put down a wall between the shower and the toilet/sink so they're in separate rooms; then sims can still use the toilet while someone's in the shower

I always look back on this game with so much nostalgia, but then I play it and I miss sims 4 again. It's just so hard to keep all your sims alive, children out of care and the sad clown away. X

Oh man nostalgia. I used to spend hours and hours every day from morning to night playing the sims1. I still have all my games every single expansion pack but they are all in storage. You need to water the plants or else they will die. Try and make a separate toilet somewhere that they don't interrupt each other's shower time. I just put a wall and door around the toilet and they seem happy with more privacy. It will make morning routines easier. At least until you have more bathrooms.

I love the music from the sims 1...and the textures of somethings are so detail...Oh you can get your Sims drunk in this game too. Just get a bar....
