Great story! People who are envious of us, don't hate us, they want what we have, or want to be where we are. But, if you don't address those that are envious of you, the jealousy can ferment into hate. The junior brother did not noticed his elder brother's attitude towards him early enough... Jealousy can come from feelings of low self-esteem or lack of confidence and that can lead to death.

One shouldn't be greedy but contempted
