Excellent show. The last time I saw them was in 2004 and 1999 in NYC. They played Alice! Wow didn’t see that coming. Cannot wait for them to come back 🖤🖤🖤

thank you for recording and sharing this show with everyone! I was there, not that far away from you... I was sitting three rows back from the GA Pit... still trying to sort out how I felt about the show. Overall, I'm glad I saw it... setlist? way too many new songs. Some were excellent but others were very so-so. They haven't played NY for many years... wish we heard more oldies. The other thing that bothered me some ... the musicians onstage were excellent but the only original member is Andrew and his vocals are currently worse than Bob Dylan's (and I love Bob Dyan). What can I say ... I think I understand ... I'm glad I saw this show ... but I didn't get to see The Sisters of Mercy.

The new material is hit or miss, but at this point they have as many non-recorded songs as they do official releases. Unfortunately, you can hear on Ribbons that he’s lost that powerful yawl, but still maintains the growling menace. I just don’t know why he flanks himself with those two guitarists- at the very least, push them back a bit, lose the “DJ”, get a live bassist and keep Eldritch front and center and raise his vocals. The new guys aren’t bad singers, but they are far to bright in the mix and they don’t compliment Eldritch like Hussey did. There’s a great album of new material- Black Sails, Summer, Crash & Burn, Eyes of Caligula, Here, Romeo Down, Better Reptile, But Genevieve, and the killer On The Beach… There’s a few more I’m forgetting. Some are not great, like Don’t Drive On Ice. I don’t know why they use that as the opener. FaLaA is the perfect opening song. It’s a shame they skipped Giving Ground as well- that’s a song that really deserves a new recording ala Colours.

I didn't even bother going. He has no voice left, apparently, nearly. I'm just not interested and I"m a massive old Sisters nut, too. I recommend staying home, listening to their music, and reading the two new books on the early years which are both fantastic books.

Saw them on Tuesday night in Chicago and was disappointed. Andrew's voice is awful now. My husband is a huge fan. He saw them in '99 and then with me in 2008 and he sounded much better then. I get some singers voices change over the years but he can't sing at all anymore and his guitarist was doing most of the singing and carrying the vocals. He should have retired after the 2008 tour.

Those commenting on how great they were probably never saw them in the past. Andrew's voice was so much better in 2008 when we saw them. When you have to rely on your guitarist to carry the vocals it's time to retire lol. Should have had a bassist too. And yes, I have seen them recently. Saw them in Chicago June 6 and was disappointed.

I was at this show and at the Philly show the following night (and, for reference, at a Philly show in 1997 - old guy here, with plenty of Sisters under his belt). Let's face it - this show sucked. Forgetting lyrics, sloppy sound engineering, and poor venue choice (the reverb muddied everything!) made for a crappy evening of music. The following night was just miles ahead in terms of both AE's effort level and in terms of the sound quality. Loew's Kings was designed as a silent film theatre, and the only acoustics that mattered were those of the organ that would play during the silents and during intermissions. I saw Patton Oswalt here, and fine - good enough acoustics for comedy. But it was not the right venue for the Sisters, Andrew Eldritch was off his game, and in all ways but one, the following night in Philadelphia was just a better show. That one, of course, was the fact that they skipped "Dominion/Mother Russia" in favour of "Crash and Burn". Weak substitution IMHO. But I'd have seen the Philly show twice over seeing this nonsense any time.

Sorry to say, this is a really poor, i suppose it was different being there.....music low on the mix and the vocals...well, i'm lost for words! Saw them in 1991 headlining the Reading Festival and the vocals were just ok then, their performance was laughable looking back at it! tho i really love their music and own some of their stuff on vinyl! The Fields Of The Nephilim are back on form since reforming! I recommend seeing them live....still great!

Not good. I didn’t even recognize Andrew Eldritch and his vocals have gone to pot. Where is the drum machine? That was the whole pulse of the band in the 80s. Saw them at the Lyceum with The Bolshoi, Balaam and the Angel and Play Dead. Now thst was a gig. This is not the Sisters of Mercy

I was at this show. Don't let a crappy cellphone microphone be your judge. The sound was phenomenal, but perfectly lo-fi and pulsing. Sounded like the era this was supposed to be in. The drum machine was sequenced in the computer since it's 2023, and that's the way it's done now.

@@davebile Indeed. I was at the show Friday night and I was pleasantly surprised at how great they sounded. Great set list. Wasn’t expecting to hear Alice. Is this SoM 1985? Is Andrew Eldritch’s voice what it used to be? No, but they sound pretty fn good if you ask me. Can’t wait for their return 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
