I used to be an a.s.e. tech (in u.s.a. its automotive service excellence certification. Means ur a pro basically duno if Aussies have hat) quit because i live in a performance dead zone of the country. So dealerships or independent repair shops. I now make WAY more money as well. Yet id give it ALL up to work in a mod shop with someone like Turbo Yoda/Alan. God i mean i build engibes, and turbo shit in my free time, but working for a living on badass turbo swaps, fabricating manifolds, and learning from a master swapper is my dream. Literally i imagine shit like that to fall asleep. It calms my mind to rebuild/modify engines/cars/motorbikes in my head. In real life my job kicks my ass and im done for after work. So only weekends can i play with toys...... SOMEONE PAY ME TO SWAP ENGINES/FAB.... PLEASE : /.

Moog is a musical genius. I come from a live, hard-rock background and have hated electronic music since I heard it first in the '80s. That was until I started watching the MCM vids. I've since bought two of the albums even though I haven't bought any new music in years! I'm as much a fan now of all styles of his music as I am of the mechanical shenanigans that caught my attention in the first place.

The fuel system is usually the very last thing most people think to upgrade - but if your fuel is crap, you ain't going no where... But I can't believe they didn't just replace the whole tank. There's no telling how much gunk is inside it. I absolutely LOVE the gauge at the surge tank

With boot mounted pump setups where the battery is also in the boot, I would suggest its best to use a couple of relays in the boot, and just run low current relay signal wires from the ecu. The idea being to maximise voltage at the pump, as opposed to having a voltage drop over 4M of wire from the front of the car.

Surge tanks are a lot more work but I guess if you don't have any option go for it. I ended up getting an retrofit intank pump from Tanks Inc in the US to fit my Datsun 200b, although it needed some mods as the circle is a decent size where you cut out the top of the tank. A lot neater job but you need a decent size hole to fit the pump in and alot of older cars might not have enough room.

One question Al on the surge tank, why isn't the overflow going back to the surge tank and have a line from the top of the surgetank going back into the main tank? this way you would not need to do stuff to prevent the surge tank from emptying when you start the pumps.

You'll find that at higher fuel flows the pressure will drop at the rails as pressure drop is the square of the fluid flow rate. Use a fuel pressure sensor at the rail to compensate for this. Probably not that big of a deal as the fuelling error will be added into the VE table. Love your videos.
