The tale was first published in 1812 as part of a collection of fairy tales for children. It was adapted by Disney for the 1959 movie, "Sleeping Beauty".

Just found out my ancestors were from Hanau Kassel-Hesse in the 1700s, and that that was where the Grimm brothers were from as well. Crazy as I used to collect steins with their tales illustrated on them!! What are the odds? I even had two different old German copy’s of their book. And I always thought we were Celtic 😂 Just so strange!! Binging their stories again ❤❤❤ My 8x great grandpa went from Hanau to England to Philadelphia ❤ And here I am centuries later in Tennessee.
