Throughout the history of gaming, we have seen characters move around at just about every different type of speed you could possibly think of, ranging from super-slow heavy hitters to lightning-fast ninjas; truly, when it comes to how quickly you move your legs, no other medium comes close to the diversity found in video games.
However, as much the creators try, true equality is something that can never be fully achieved, and in many cases, the slower characters tend to be not so good in their respective games.
