Maybe you’ve heard Jaeger-LeCoultre referred to as the watchmaker’s watchmaker, the company behind such greats as Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin? It’s true, Jaeger-LeCoultre has supplied those masters-and many more besides-but you don’t get that kind of gig without already being a master yourself. This is the story of the calibre 101, and how Jaeger-LeCoultre became the watchmaker’s watchmaker.
Featured Watches:
Jaeger LeCoultre Calibre 101
Jaeger LeCoultre Calibre 846
Jaeger LeCoultre 101 Feuille
Jaeger LeCoultre 101 Ring

I vaguely recall a time that watches were reviewed here. Now, we are no longer schooled on straight-up consumerism; but, instead, are receiving a remarkably varied curriculum, including finance, physics, history, philosophy, literature, engineering, political science, economics, and drama. Kudos to the writers for using horology as analogy for the *ahem* "complicated" world in which we live. I cannot recall a single installment from this KZfaq channel that I did not come away from in some way better informed. And given the whirlwind of information, misinformation, disinformation, and outright propaganda that clouds, confuses, and confounds us, this place really had become an intellectual sanctuary for the weary sojourner of the internet. Thank you.

At the end of WWI,Edmund Jaeger, who was very sick at the time, hired Henri Rodanet to take over technical direction in Paris.By 1925,the Duoplan caliber was finished. In 1929,they achieved the 1st tiny duoplan movement, Caliber 101.During Queen Elizabeth II coronation in 1953,she wore that famous Jaeger Le Coultre movement in a watch given to her by French President Lebrun

I've been fascinated by this movement since seeing Claire Foy wear one featuring it in "The Crown." I couldn't fathom how a watch could be that small in 1950 and, of course, was not surprised when JLC was behind it. Why on earth does JLC have such a black sheep reputation? I'd take one over a Patek any day... operative word being "take" since my ramen noodle diet isn't going to fund itself...
