I have the same phone, it has some very weird interface quirks. But you soon get used to it. It's a good conversation starter but not an overly practical phone.

Owned one of these for about a year. It was my primary phone. It finally started dropping calls constantly (after I dropped it about a thousand times). I went to buy my second one and was told they discontinued them. I miss it.

I had a brick phone back in 1993 and 1994. I decided that I wanted a smaller phone and sent the brick phone to my dad. He insisted it was the best phone ever and refused to get a new phone until Verizon finally told him that they would no longer support it. Thanks for the video. It brought back memories. Andrew

I have had one of those for a couple years now. The battery lasts forever. It worked on rogers when I lent it to a friend, but last week I tried to use it when my phone died and it wouldn't work on virgin mobile here in Canada. Works great in the Bluetooth mode when you need to charge you phone. you can even text through the Bluetooth if you don't mind a lot of button tapping.

I have 2 of those.Have been using them since more than a year. Being used as official office mobile phone. Very useful as landline provider bsnl gives very pathetic service in my location. The phone is really big and feels like a wireless landline device. Unaware clients do get impressed/curious. There is very little chance of misplacing it by the office staff because its just to big to be misplaced. Battery lasts long and ringtone volume is very loud. Few of my friends also use it as their office mobile phone.

Man, I wish this had been out a couple of years ago. My daughter used to beg us to get her a smartphone and I used to joke that I was going to get her one of the old 80's brick phones. Hell I would have bought this just to see her open it up on Christmas morning. Of course, I'd have her open up the real cell phone eventually and I'd keep that big bad boy for myself, but the moment would have been priceless. XD

It could have 6 months standby time. In fact, it could probably have much more than that, since the functional part of it can all be made on a single chip, and the rest of the phone can be just battery.
