His parents didnt want a son, they wanted a _genius._ They pushed him into the limelight from a very young age, and eventually drove him to run away. Sidis decided at age 24 that enough was enough, and ran way from his parents and the media. In order to avoid detection, he used countless pseudonyms, and changed his location often. He was driven away by a society that ridiculed and pressured him. His intelligence was a curse to him above all else, preventing him from making social connections, and forcing him into a life of seclusion and depression. Even having the gift of superhuman intelligence, and the potential to be one of the most successful individuals in the world, could not change the fact that he was unhappy. Sidis died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Boston in 1944, alone, and with no family. He was 46 years old.

I feel like we should mention that he was so tired of being smart that he went under hiding and worked jobs that didn't exactly needed any qualifications for the rest of his life. Honestly IQ isn't as important as having good morals that go along with your knowledge.

Some back story: his parents were both high level academics and agreed to try and make their child a genius before it was born, James sidis was certainly smart to begin with but his parents challenged him since the very beginning his whole life was dedicated to learning mostly math and language, he's the result of natural talent and the dedication to spend his whole life learning more about maths made for him by his parents, he didn't really care all that much about maths, more the validation he'd get for doing good. He never had a child hood or any social life really just learning from various experts, his parents and people he's being bragged to by his parents. As an adult he was still very child like and socially completely inexperienced. It's actually a very sad story at least they got the smartest kid in the world amirite? Ha ha... 😞
