2 weeks ago i also went on the smiler. It was a really nice experience but the back seats kinda made it 50 times more terrifying which i didnt expect at the time. Overall it was a fantastic experience and i would love to go on it again.

Not gonna lie, the speakers on the half way point on the ride, you can barely hear it, it is almost borderline non existent and the TVs are so dim you can’t even see the video playing. In 2022, the TVs and the speakers on the half way point were working fine but now it’s unfortunately not looking the best this year considering this engineering marvel is over 10 years old. Lucking these speakers in the first lift hill are still in perfect working order despite being toned down a touch but I’m hoping that Alton Towers fix the TVs and speakers on the halfway point of the ride because having it toned down ruins the ride a little bit.

Was there this weekend...Queue time is crazy...13 kept breaking down as well.... Went there from 10am until nearly 6pm and only got on 5 rides... What a joke

Probably because it’s peak time of the year, the summer period meaning increased capacity and for the ride reliability, let’s just say it’s terrible. They have over 4 months to fix and maintain their rides.

Try aim for a weekday trip instead of a weekend trip if you’re in a peak period.

@@massivepooheadYou can't call someone that, Besides it's an enforced rule not illegal. If someone does it they can be kicked out of the park but can't be arrested. Even if recording on ride is bad or not you can't call someone especially a young person that.

@@themeparkedup6133 no mate it is illegal, you're basically saying tried murder is illegal. If you record a roller coaster without a go pro or with permission from the park it could kill someone which is definitely illegal

Nah kill someone is way OTT. Just because someone recorded this very clear and crisp 4K POV into KZfaq, doesn’t mean that it’s your problem. Sure, Merlin and Alton Towers don’t allow people to record and if they catch them doing that, the ride’s CCTV cameras will detect it and stop the ride to retrieve the camera and kick them out of the ride but seriously, it is not your problem it’s not going to kill you or haunt you for the rest if your life.

@@Airtime_Adds do you call yourself a coaster enthusiast? You disrespectful lil mf, how could you say that? One of my friends died on a rollercoaster die to a camera being flicked in their face becuase some person decided to record a pov. So before you tell me bs atleast try to make it make sense
