This is a high school project based off of the Creepy Pasta written by "blue_tidal". There are multiple versions of this film that have been made and that you can find on KZfaq. While still adapting mainly from the original post, this film is an attempt to put our own spin and style on the well chronicled story.

I once told this story to some folks who was camping. I was camping alone and they asked me if i wanted to join them. When everyone went to sleep only i and their daughter was left awake. She needed to go to the toilet. I made her so afraid i had to go with her and wait outside the toilet door. Best horror story to tell when you are camping. 10+ points from me.

I liked it a lot, just think the smile could've been more scary, it threw me off for the entire short, so it could've been scarier, but great work though.

This was pretty well done. I do agree with others here that the actor who played "The Smiling Man" should have been older and the smile a little more creepy, however, the cinematography and music were amazing. My favorite shots were the ones when we see the man on the swings and as the main character walks across the window of the house, you see "The Smiling Man" dancing to the right. This is not deserve all the dislikes it has. Great job!

Preston Blackard's performance is outstanding! The interpretation of The Smiling Man in this movie was creative and very creepy! It made me think of a ghost. Love the music at the end.

Its unfair to compare work. I tried to watch this one for its own sake. I didn't feel scared though, because your smiling man is the cutest little thing ever. His smile actually brightens the room. But good effort.

The Smiling man story is the only CreepyPasta that ever actually scared me. So the fact that the smiling man in this wasn't as terrifying as I'd pictured while listening to the actual story, helped me lose some of the terror I felt for the story. But he's still creepy as fuck 😂😂 10/10 ((but the smiling man in this is cute not spooky so it helped a lot 😂))

They took the outdoor stuff straight out of the Michael Evans 2AM video which was only a couple years earlier. Hardly a reinterpretation, more a knock off.

No doubt a filmmaker is going to notice The Smiling Man's popularity, and bring his story to the big screen. Such was the case for Lights Out. I'm hoping James Wan and Leigh Whannel will be the ones to helm a movie about the urban legend of The Smiling Man.

its alright, but the home invasion bit at end wasnt necessary. i have seen various versions of this tale and the best i seen is still the 2am: the smiling man version, which also happened to be the first i saw.
