A slowed down and reverbed version of The Smiths' 'Back to the Old House', from their 1984 compilation, 'Hatful of Hollow'. The visuals are archival footage found online.

In my case, I'd rather go back to my old house, where I lived until I was almost 8 years old. I would wake up every day really excited thinking about all the things I'll do throughout the day. Now... I keep falling in a dark hole.

My gramps lived on a farm in the small village where I live back in the 1940s, it's gone now, sadly, the house, the fields all of it. But I've seen photos of it, and this song always reminds me of the fields, and the farmhouse and the fences of those photos from the 40s

@@niksutliff Hey man, I moved and bought a house in another state hundreds of miles away with a woman I thought I’d marry. She cheated on me and dumped me. I lost my house, my life I created and all the friends I thought I had. I moved back home and slept on a futon that I slept on back in college. That first night was sobering. That was over 7 years ago now. I am married, I have a great job, I’m in great shape and have true friends. Listen to the song “to live is to fly” by Townes van zandt. The lyrics are beautiful and I believe it will give you some interesting ideas to ponder. Come back after you’ve listened to the song and have had time to think on life. I’d like to hear about your thoughts.

I can't guarantee I'll do all of these, but I'm likely to do another Snail Mail song soon - though maybe not 'Heatwave'.
