Bigmouth Strikes Again was featured on the groups third studio album, The Queen is Dead. It peaked at No.25 in the UK Singles Chart and was also the closing track on the bands only live album, Rank.
Lyrics
Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking
When I said I'd like to smash every tooth
In your head
Oh...sweetness, sweetness, I was only joking
When I said by rights you should be
Bludgeoned in your bed
And now I know how Joan of Arc felt
Now I know how Joan of Arc felt
As the flames rose to her roman nose
And her Walkman started to melt
Oh...
Bigmouth, la...bigmouth, la...
Bigmouth strikes again
And I've got no right to take my place
With the Human race
Oh, bigmouth, la ... bigmouth, la
Bigmouth strikes again
And I've got no right to take my place
With the Human race
And now I know how Joan of Arc felt
Now I know how Joan of Arc felt
As the flames rose to her roman nose
And her hearing aid started to melt
Bigmouth, la...bigmouth, la...
Bigmouth strikes again
And I've got no right to take my place
With the Human race
Oh...
Bigmouth, oh...bigmouth, la...
Bigmouth strikes again
And I've got no right to take my place
With the Human race
Oh...
Bigmouth, oh...bigmouth, la...
Bigmouth strikes again
And I've got no right to take my place
With the Human race
Oh...
Bigmouth, oh...bigmouth, la...
Bigmouth strikes again
And I've got no right to take my place
With the Human race
Oh...

The amount of layering of Johnny Marr’s guitars on this track is nothing short of legendary, the combination of the acoustic guitar, the electric and the slide guitar, if there’s one song to be Marr’s guitar opus, it’s this song

This album gets better every time i play it. You can't really understand how good is it, until you realize the huge influence and the context where has been made. Sadness, isolation, disillusion, sarcasm, irreverence, mental disease, rejection for the establishment (political, musical), in an album that sounds incredibly well. One of the finest and most melodic voice, supported by sharp guitars and an accurate rhyhtm section.

They were so far in front,And those who knew couldn't be bothered to explain to those who didn't...Exceptional band and uniquely on their own with lyrics by Morrissey and Marr on guitar..A total juggernaut of brilliance which is extremely unlikely to be replicated..A one off band who have no peers....Like Joy Division and Nirvana..

I remember when I first heard this song back in in the '80's. At 16 yrs old, I thought the lyrics so wickedly hilarious, and still do. Really, the whole album is that way...There is a Light, Vicar in a Tutu, Wild Heart...fabulous! 30+ years later, and I'm still loving The Smiths...

And I've got no right to take my place To the Human race And now i know how King Crimson fans felt And now i know how King Crimson fans felt As the references where long on their comments songs And their sanity started to melt (Tbh any band that had múltiple referentes in JoJo count or just pre 2000's rock fans in general but i chose King Crimson cuz they now have Epitaph, In The Court of the Crimson King the song and TECHNICALLY the whole album, Matte Kudasai, The Howler and ALL of this referentes are linked to important things for the plot, also Discipline in general if you count that panel in JoJolion and Bill Bruford but thats a member so Comment secciones are unaffected. Edit: also the fact that so much KC references are in one part and you can theorize about that and the fact that they have a song named Dinosaur and Robert Fripped worked on Scary Monsters)

We really did have the best music back in the '80s! There were so many genres and sub genres of music and they were all so amazing! No wonder so many of us are pining for the past and longing to go back even for one minute. That life seems like a million years ago but then sometimes it feels like yesterday. When I hear a song like this it's almost like I am back in that time and place. ❤❤❤❤
