Schiefele and seguin were playing rock paper scissors to see who got to stay on the ice because being the last of the ice is a superstition some players have. Seguin threw up nothing as a joke because he wanted to win, hence the cheeky smile. Also it's pronounced "shy-flee".

I remember being at this game (I worked at the arena). I was talking to some of my co-workers and they were convinced he wouldn't play well. I told them it would go one of two ways. He would have a bad game or he would play the game of his life. This is one of my favorite memories from working in that arena.

Fleury was taping Crosby’s and Malkin’s sleeves to their jerseys so they couldn’t get their hands through when putting it on after he went to Vegas after they were teammates for forever during the ASG the following year. He’s always been known for one of the biggest pranksters in the league

This was a few years ago. His wife was battling throat cancer, if I remember correctly. She had gone back to New York to get treatment and be with her family and he had taken time off to be with her and their kids. The team was struggling and she pushed him to go back. That night, everyone, including the opposing team and their fans had shown him an overwhelming amount of love and support.

Adam you didn’t finish the last clip entirely, the look on his face was guilt. He felt really bad for having that shot hit the other guy. Especially as a rookie in the league. Once they were stretchering him off the ice, he skated to the stretched and tapped it and said sorry. (Tapping with the stick is a song of respect or close to it in hockey)
@El_Travo
@El_Travo 4 жыл бұрын
- Schiefele ("Shy-flea") and Seguin ("Say-gen") both have their routines where they are the last guy off the ice, so this is their compromise when they play each other. - Craig Anderson had left the team to take care of his wife who was battling cancer. He came back with her encouragement and that was the result. His wife is doing much better now. - Fleury (the taping the jersey vid) was taken in an expansion draft by Vegas from Pittsburgh. When the players re-united at the All-Star game he went and taped his old teammates jerseys. Just for a bit of added context. - The nets are pretty heavy, but they come off the pegs (spikes into the ice that hold the net in place) pretty easily. They were more secure before but after a few incidents (Stamkos breaking his leg on the post) they changed the pegs. Any force above a couple inches off the ice can knock them off.

The one with Fleury taping up the Penguins' jerseys... Marc-Andre Fleury was a goalie for the Penguins for a long time, and was with them for their three Stanley Cup victories in the 2000s. Not only was he a great goalie for them, he was loved as a person by the team and the city of Pittsburgh/fans of the Penguins as well. When the Vegas Golden Knights came into the league, they picked Fleury first in the expansion draft, and that was his first game back in Pittsburgh since joining the Knights. He's always been known as a jokester, and he was just playing pranks on some close, old friends.

I have found your channel recently, it’s one of my favorites. Being a Canadian who’s loves hockey I enjoy your videos, I’m not one to watch reaction videos, as see no purpose in it when I can watch then damn things myself. But watching you getting to know a new sport and embracing it, is a real honest joy. Watching you react in a honest and in awe of what these guys do again Is a joy. I would like to make one suggestion and not to be rude, but a lot of the time when you ask for clarification the commentators are giving the context but you in your own loving way of the sport don’t stop talking to hear. I mean that in the nicest way, again suggestion it may help just a bit to get it. Yes I understand you need to comment but just give a little listen at times. I know they don’t always explain. I don’t want to come off as a ass, I’m sure I get hate comments, but hey, I’m Canadian we may be nice but don’t put up with any BS.

The cosy looking fella is Marc-Andre Fleury, former pittsburgh penguin goalie. that clip was recorded at the All-Star Weekend a few seasons ago, during his first season with the Vegas Golden Knights. The 2 kits he messed with belong to Crosby and Malkin (his former teammates and best friends) - he put tape on the inside of the jerseys so that when they attempt to get dressed they will get tangled up and have no idea what is going on with their equipment. He's done this many times and they will know instantly who did it and all will get a laugh.

The Rock paper Scissors was to see who leaves the ice last - some players want to be the last to leave the ice as a super stition

Mark Scheifele and Tyler Seguin are doing Rock Paper Scissors to see who will be the last off of the ice cause for some of the players they need to be last of the ice it’s a Pregame Ritual/a Superstition for them. So Scheifele and Seguin and some other players that’s what they do to decide who will be last off

Check out the fan sportsmanship too- like canadian fans singing the US anthem for the visiting team when the sound cuts out. The one way NA hockey is more sane than european football is visiting fans can sit in the middle of the home crowd and enjoy the game.🍁

Tyler seguin has a superstition when everyone leaves the ice. He plays a simple game of Rock Paper Scissors with the opposing team to show a sign of friendship, and sportsmanship

Be Nice Adam... The announcer, Ray Ferraro, a former NHL player was feeling emotional about watching the on ice celebration for the goalie, Anderson, whose wife was battling cancer. Ferraro could understand the emotions of the players and was having difficulty speaking about it... remember be nice...
