@@Lessen0 Kinda reminds me of the early interactions between Liriel and Fyodor in the Windwalker trilogy of books (a trilogy that I'd highly recommend, the pair's adventures are quite fun to read, especially with how Liriel solves some problems in ways that you may not expect). Liriel is impulsive and very curious, in an almost cat-like way, and she initially fails to understand the kinds of boundaries that are the norm on the surface, but she legitimately tries to abide by them (at first for Fyodor's sake, and then later because she genuinely cares), and she even takes a shine to the nickname/pet name Fyodor gives her: "Little Raven". For instance, at first she can't understand why humans (like Fyodor) are so averse to casual intimacy, but once she understands the meaning that intimacy has for humans, she treats the act with more respect and reverence, particularly once she and Fyodor have become lovers. The key difference between Liriel and Minthara though is that Liriel even early on is depicted as being very kind-hearted (the only times Liriel has ever killed anyone, even while living in Menzoberranzan, was when she was acting purely in self-defense). Minthara on the other hand takes quite a bit of time and effort to soften up.

@@firestorm165 Yep. In the Underdark, a drow allowing themselves to be this vulnerable will almost invariably end up dead. So it's extremely telling for a drow to be this open and honest with you. A normal person saying they trust you is one thing, but it's far more meaningful coming from a drow who used to live in the Underdark.

same, she sound so ruthless that i thought she was evil then i process to knocked her out and loot her stuff and was surprised that i can take her clothes but i didn't really mind it back then so after that i just straight up kill her in cold blood

the red eyes are a gift from Lolth to signify her followers, she no longer follows Lolth, so it makes sense.

@@Riseofgamez ironically she even has an actual line in-game where she basically tells you that "if you had killed me when we first met i would have been just another casualty on your crusade agaisnt the absolute, and nobody would remember me...".

@@towelgirl21 it’s mostly just tid bit flashes of nudity and suggestive body movements inbetween blackouts, but the scenes are very revealing without showing actual genitalia (most times)

Thats why the replay value is so good. Once you figure out that some characters approve and disapprove of certain actions, you can essentially play out an "evil" or "chaotic" playthrough. Just start over and blitz through the quests with all the knowledge of character building. If you really want to be rude, play on the default difficulty. (I get the impression most people play on tactician/honour mode) Still, you can do good aligned things and recruit her later. Just ignore her or knock her out in act 1.

It is possible to recruit her without killing the tieflings, but Halsin will leave if u recruit her. Not sure if u can romance her at that point tho, since her first romance scene is tied to killing the tieflings.

Yup. Steal a scroll off the table in front of her, make sure she's tagged "temporarily hostile," turn on non-lethal attacks, make sure final damage is done with a melee attack. After that, she should be on the ground with 1 HP and stars circling her head. Best case scenario, you've already quietly taken out Priestess Gut in her room, so now you just have to deal with Ragzlin. Killing him will make EVERYONE in the goblin camp hostile, so make sure you save him for last. After he's done, go back to the Worg Pens & free/notify Halsin. All of this needs to be done before you long rest. After that, you can do whatever you want, just stay away from the goblin camp. She'll be in Moonrise being judged by Ketheric when you get there. I even had Halsin in the party the 1st time she was recruited, post-Patch 5. He was fine with it. No disapproval, no ultimatum, no problems at all.

​@@CrimpyCrackerThat's incorrect. You miss the goblin party scene, but her approval starts at zero no matter what you do in Act I, so her romance is irrelevant to whatever choice you made. Halsin doesn't give any ultimatums about her.

@Cracker Nope, just finished the playthrough with both of them in my party. The difference is that Halsin's place changes in camp. In the elfsong for instance he is standing near the fireplace in the middle of the room instead of the bed like the others

The Drow are made this way to survive in the Underdark. So what you are seeing here is the taming of a grown up wild alpha animal, which is extremely difficult to do. You need to become the alpha in this instance, but you need to also acknowledge theirs as well. A mutual relationship only begins there, but the taming process must occur first.
