Thank you for a very comprehensive review and tutorial!!!!! I'm seriously considering getting this recorder!

Interesting that it seems to have a separate gain setting for line-level inputs, something that is missing on my Tascam DR 05-X. On the other hand, a maximum recording quality of 44.1kHz / 16 bit looks like a limitation. For digitizing analogue audio, I prefer using an audio interface to record directly to a computer. Very decent interfaces with up to 192 kHz/24 bit capability (the 24 bit part is important for dynamic range) can be had from the likes of Behringer, Focusrite, MOTU,... for a reasonable cash outlay. Keep up the interesting videos !

Hey great video, I want to ask about the distance range without an external mic, how do you think will it go with my recording in a lecture class with no external mic and how good would it be when I record it on my pocket or just put on the table with me sitting on the back or front?

I'd advise against this recorder if you're considering using it in conjunction with professional camera equipment, maybe a camcorder or mirrorless camera setup. It suffers from truly horrible audio drift, especially over longer periods. TASCAM's offerings seem to be generally more reliable.
