Sony have announced the reveal date for the Xperia 1 V which I believe could be one of the best phones this year. Upgrades are touted. The new one is coming!

I think the new sensor is called lytia it’s one Sony did some press about in December 2021 but haven’t brought to market yet,2 layer separates the photodiode layer and transistor to massively increase dynamic range and reduction in noise hopefully it’s this sensor

All Xperia series 1,5, and 10 were overheating like crazy. Hope Sony fix this issue in ver. of the phones.

10 wasn't an issue. 1 and 5 were last year depending on the task but also the kind of climate you're in. This year it won't be an issue.

I have a feeling that this new sensor is in the new Pro-I and I’m guessing it’s going to be released later this year. The 1 V is going to have the same cameras except they will be a little enhanced. I hope I’m wrong!! Because I can’t wait to actually buy it!!!

I think if they're going all out on the 1 V I don't think there's any need for a Pro-I sequel tbh. That's the route I think they'll go but they may do a sequel to the original Pro.

do you think the new model Xperia could runs native 4k all time with these new sensors? Because mostly with the old models the screen only runs 4k with some content and that’s a real issue

In what way is it an issue? I didn't really notice anything amiss. It's a good way to save battery life. There's a chance though that the new screen is LTPO and maybe they'll give us resolution options or it will run at 4k all the time. Guess we'll find out soon!

Yeah for sure. The 8 Gen 2 is a much more efficient SoC and hopefully they add some sort of thermal solution just to make sustained performance really good.

this is a newer sensor than the one used in xiaomi 13 ultra

Well there isn't anything newer per se. There's a good chance Sony customises a sensor at that size specific for Xperia. Can't wait to see what they do. Even if it's the same as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra it's a great sensor and they'll do some great things with it.
