"Old unique video of The Sound.
Forgotten about it, but found it back again!
"Party Of The Mind" from the third album: ALL FALL DOWN
I am sorry about the poor quality of the old VHS tape and the video signal was also far from perfect, but that's the best you could get in those days. I've also tried to add the original soundrecordings from the album, because Adrian was not singing live after all in this video and the original sound of the tape was even more terrible to listen to. The synchronization of recording is not quite the thing I had in mind, well I suppose... I am not much of a sound editor either, but I am glad to share this video anyway."

I think this is my favorite song by the sound. I know there are other masterpieces, but this song always will ring in my head for months after I listen to it. I bought this album in 1982, I thought it was fantastic then.

@@gabrielceballos8789 yes. It was only one time according to to doc. It was specifically against his dad. But he warned his parents that day he should stay away from them and even tried to convince the police to spend the night in jail for his own dad's safety but they didn't let him. It's pretty sad he was suffering from a mental condition. The documentary is available to rent on vimeo. Well worth watching.

@@lxldny that's horrible..... Yeah I know he had schizoaffective disorder, he was in a bad state of mind a few days before he committed suicide, I assume that's when he tried to murder his father?
@lxldny
@lxldny 3 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielceballos8789 no, no. That episode was around the mid 80s. That's when his parents took him to a psychiatric hospital the very next day and once they got there he shattered a window with his hand, grabbed a broken piece of glass and tried to stab himself with it in front of his parents but it didn't work. One of the nurses told his father that he would eventually lose his son because he would try to kill himself again. When he finally succeeded in 1997 it was in very different circumstances. He was recording a comeback album and it was going very well for the most part but when it came to the vocals he felt the medication he was taking would negatively affect his performance. Against the producers own recommendation he stopped taking the medication and days later is when he committed suicide by throwing himself at an express train in Wimbledon. I believe he was meant to be at the studio that very same day. A friend of his recalls talking to Adrian on the phone the night before and remembers him sounding very calm, as if to suggest he was finally at peace with himself and with his fatal decision, despite not having warned anyone. It's a pretty tragic story and I feel really bad for him. Seemed like one of the greatest genuine talents in music who described himself honestly through his lyrics. RIP 🙏
