Biologists Tom Paragi and Mike Taras, along with friend Cam Leonard, recover a dead female wolf from a snowmachine trail about 35 miles east of Fairbanks. At the time they sledded the wolf out, they did not know the cause of death. Wildlife Veterinarian Kimberlee Beckman checked the wolf a few days later. A five year old female, healthy. Killed by multiple bites from other wolves. A collapsed lung caused by the attack killed her. Biologists said death by wolf is common for wolves.
