Emerging from a rocky crag rising between two rivers, the castle’s nautical shape mimics the bow of a ship. Having served as a fortress, a royal palace, a state penitentiary, and, most recently, a museum and military archive, it's most famous for providing inspiration for some of Walt Disney’s most iconic films, including “Cinderella” and “Snow White.” Today, it is a protected UNESCO World Heritage site, with visitors flocking from all over the world to witness the real-life fairytale castle.

The Spanish castle is an authentic medieval fortress from the 12th century, and the German castle dates back to the 19th century. Spanish is much more authentic and beautiful, no matter how famous Germany is. By the way, Walt Disney was several times in Spain since he was a great friend of Salvador Dalí.

Neuschwanstein Castle is from the 19th century, it is relatively new, the Alcazar of Segovia is from the 12th century. It is less famous but much older and more authentic!

Maybe it was harder to build the Alcázar of Segovia, but that doesn't make it any better than Neuschwanstein. Don't get me wrong, i think the Alcázar of Segovia is beautiful. Unlike you, I'm not that ignorant to admit that.

In this castle, the Queen of Castile Isabel la Católica, was on her wedding night with King Fernando de Aragón. Also in Segovia is the Roman bimillennial aqueduct in perfect condition and the entire city is a historical complex, with medieval churches and palaces. The city is a real open-air museum

It did look like the Disneyland castle...except Mickey & Minnie were no where to be found....instead beautiful windows and armored knights and gorgeous tapestries. I loved Spain, so rich with history ♡

@@albertpuig6273 the name, and the core build all are Arabic when the castle falls the castle just remove some and add some from the outside, one thing you need to know you can't carve the inside wall of build in an Arabic style in an already built castle of the wall will crake, it needs in mid of building, now you know who build it

@@moonshadowsong You just don't know what you are talking about. The first references to this building date from the XIIth century. Segovia didn't belong to the moors anymore in the XIIth century, it had been taken a century earlier. There was already a Roman fort in the location, but anyway; the most ancient rooms of the PRESENT building date from the XIIIth century, from the reign of Alfonso X (1252-1284). The earlier building was just a wall, of which almost nothing remains..

I went there in February of this year! It was freezing but definitely worth the trek there. There was this weird dude dressed as a Spartan on the outside, though. He wouldn't let you take a picture of him unless you gave him a Euro. Other than that, it was a cool experience.

@@edstar83 In part yes, I can't recall what my motivation was for denying it 2 years ago was but mostly likely I took objection because it was also inspired(and more obviously so) by the Bavarian Neuschwanstein castle which I am only a days trip away from.

There you go and by the way was build in 1120 when Segovia was reconquered by the christians

Actually all of you are partly right. As I understand it, the castle of Segovia inspired the castle of Snow White and that of Neschwanstein that of Cinderella. Walt Disney has several castles. you guys got it ALL wrong, it was Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. Not only the outside of the castle BUT the inside. Specifically if you look at the paintings you can see the art style that Walt Disney was insprired to use for the way that Bambi looks. you really need to go back redo this video. I Love this channel , but please don't let this be a place I have to fact check as well.
