I love how this episode shows Peter's flaws when he attacks Electro unprovoked. Year one Spidey still has a lot of room to learn and grow. The creators said this show was centered around Pete's education. Seeing him make mistakes like that and learning from them is really good.

What I like about this show is that there is a sort of domino effect where Electro inadvertently creates the Lizard by shocking the serum. It’s cool to see that rather than villains be isolated incidents.

This is my favorite version of Electro. Never been a big fan of the character and his goofy costume, but the insulated suit in this show, which is also awesomely retractable, is really cool. It's like his own prison that he HAS to wear to not only protect him, but others from him. I honestly think it's part of the reason why he's driven mad so fast. Imagine having to wear a skintight suit for hours and hours, days on end, for yours and everyone's protection. Unable to touch anyone or anything, unable to eat, we don't even know if he needs to sleep! Imagine if he was claustrophobic! That would be a living hell!

This is my favorite version of Electro. Guy just wants to be normal again, but he became a villain, because the world sees him as a villain. He's a very sad character actually

Does he? Billy and Martha have shown up in this, TAS, and the old show where all the memes come from. They haven't been in the Raimi movies, TASM, any of the Disney shows, or the MTV show. Seems to me like they're absent more often than not. Even in the comics, I can't think of a prominent appearance outside 616.

Weisman planned on having the Human Torch appear in Season 1 to team up with Spider-Man but it was vetoed as the Fantastic Four were owned by Fox, possibly explaining some of the incorrect episode summaries on iTunes and Disney+.

I kinda like that there are no other supers in this show. Keeps everything focused on Spider-Man and makes it feel like he's the most unique thing in this world, like the Raimi films or Amazing films.

The first couple swings in the beginning are taken right out of Spider-Man 2, the first shot is from the ending swing of SM2 and the one where he crawls up the building and dive is from the train fight vs doc ock

Also, the shot of Peter suiting up after leaving Liz at the cafe looks like it’s right out of the first Raimi movie when he’s trying to find the guy who he thought killed Uncle Ben.

Things could've been easily preventable if Spider-Man and the Policeman didn't aggravate Electro. At least Spider-Man tried to make things right but the damage was already done.

Max did seem to have a bit of a temper. Understandable considering the situation, but he really stopped being reasonable at the end there.

It’s goes both ways, too. The cops escalated the situation like they always do and Spidey’s behavior definitely didn’t help matters but Max’s temperament and lack of admitting fault go a long way in making his situations worse, as we’ll see later in the show.

I LOVE that they’re watching this show, I remember being a kid and having an old foldable white Sony DVD player and I had the entire show on DVD. Seeing them watch this show again gives me so much nostalgia and I’m all for it

Yeah I started watching the series through dvd’s too but it was out of order 😂. But still enjoyed the hell out of it only till it was back on Netflix before Disney+ I watched it in order. Best piece of Spider-Man media.

It's always good to hear animr voice actors like Crispin Freeman take the leap from dubbing foreign media to voice acting in mainstream cartoons. Same with Steven Jay Blum, Laura Bailey and Kari Wahlgren to name a few. Johnny Yong Bosch went in the opposite direction, but that's fine too.

Some people mentioned that this show has a lot of references to the Raimi movies and that's no coincidence. This show was supposed to be like a ad for the Raimi movies so it was a stipulation to have lots of Raimi movie references.

The patrons voted for this one. And frankly I find it to be a better show than the 90s series, and I grew up with it. I found it really hard to watch as an adult.
