The top level of Sprint Car racing in the United States is about to see a change in 2024. Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet's High Limit Series has purchased the All-Star Circuit of Champions from Tony Stewart. The All Stars was more of a regional series, but now its going national to compete with the Outlaws leaving drivers and teams torn about which series to run in 2024.
EDIT: Rico Abreu has committed to a full season in High Limit.

The major dirt open wheel races like Knoxville Nationals, Eldora's Kings Royal, the Chili Bowl have a crazy energy in person. Highly recommend making it to one at least once

Loving all this dirt content on youtube, i think the higher visibility and affordability of flo racing is better for the sport.

The split is interesting. Its not as damaging as the split with Indycar but Im afraid some tracks might suffer from this. Especially in Ohio. It would be nice fi the Outlaws and High Limit can spread the wealth around to different tracks every year instead of hitting the same ones. Obviously some track are an exception.

As someone that was in the middle of th CART vs IRL fight i can say that it was nothing like the WoO vs HL situation. To start with there was only about 20 or so teams (some with multiple cars) in the entire country. It ultimately came down to a pissing contest between a handful of multi millionaires and billionaires. I am of the belief that this will workout just fine and sprint car racing will be bigger and better for it.

Love watching these. Super late models and big block modifieds are worth checking out too. Honestly i think dirt oval racing is the best racing in the world.

The Big Block modifieds are sprint car from the motor plate to front axle and dirt late model from the motor plate to the rear end...

The purse increase was happening before HL showed up but great video. 250,000, 185,000 and 175,000 K to win races at Husets, Knoxville and Eldora respectively. I am a big supporter of High Limit/Flo but growth was already happening before this. Would love to see you do more dirt stuff

I agree with Larson and Sweet on the payouts needing to be more. But I think they are hurting as much as they are helping with this split

I think the biggest thing is the sustainability of where this money is coming from. Can it last beyond 2024/2025? One other positive is it seems tracks are more equally distributing the purse across the field instead of a really large amount just to win the race. We keep getting more and more info regarding this and it seems like High Limit is also implementing a charter system with TV revenue share like NASCAR is doing. I will have to make an update video on this closer to the start of the season.

@@Demise90Racing Yes! Yes! NASCAR's Charter System is such a good deal, Dale Jr. said he had multiple financial advisors telling him not to buy in. So, he didn't. What does it say when NASCAR's most popular driver for a decade can't afford a charter?

I love dirt racing! What other motorsport has their stars going to small, grass roots style tracks? Youre not gonna get the Indycar stars to race at Nelsons Ledges road course, like you get big names coming to Wayne County. High limit actually put on a hell of a show at Wayne County last year. Ill definitely be back for that.

You are absolutely right on that. I'm going to see if I can make it to a High Limit race next year. I've been going to Weedsport the last couple of years for the Outlaws and I love it. Can't wait to go back in 2024.

@@Demise90Racing I was at Eldora, Sharon Speedway, and Learnerville for wing and late model racing, Norwalk for the NHRA, Mid-Ohio for Indycar, and at Indy, and the high limit series got me back to Wayne County this year. I used to race a Mod-Lite out at Wayne County, and a couple other local tracks in NE Ohio/Western PA. Stopped going there when I stopped racing. Glad I went back, and will definitely be back.

Want to see 410 Sprint Cars do well on the national stage, but not at the expense of the local tracks. I live near Attica and Fremont and the All Stars were a big part of the tracks revenue. Plus the top level local guys would run in the races to help out their race programs. I'm making bigger effort to go to more local shows this year for sure. I'll most likely head to the 3 Outlaw shows too.

I agree on the payouts needing to be more, but where do you get the money from in order to do this though. Kyle is not infinitely wealthy and nor is Brad Sweet though

This is a good question. They are apparently taking the Nascar approach with a charter system and revenue share from the TV partner which is Floracing. The Outlaws on the other hand are offering more money up front, but have taken that away from the overall championship fund at the end of the season.

Seems like this could as equally messy as the CART vs. IRL open-wheel split in the 90s....that ended up taking years to resolve and each series suffered

I am concerned that with conflicting dates, car counts (especially the core 10-15 high point drivers being split between the two series) will be down and the level and intensity of the racing will suffer. At the annual Grand Forks WoO races, car counts in recent years have been at about 28-32. With the split, about a third of those cars will be somewhere else on those dates.

It happens only on occasion, but when a local guy can beat the All-Stars or the Outlaws its a feel good story. I've seen some local guys run very well against the Outlaws at Weedsport.

Flo has a monthly option now, gateway dirt nationals late model race, chili bowl midget nationals and the winter late model racing in New Mexico will be on there this month. Larson has committed to running the full week in New Mexico along with most of the top super late model teams.

even if high limit crashes and burns, the outlaws have already increased pay. high limit has accomplished what they wanted to do

Twice, a WoO rival series was attempted in the past that split up WoO competitors. Both failed within 1 year. I predict High Limit will too. High Limit should have kept their Tuesday - Thursday format. Increasing from 12 to 24 scheduled dates.

Those previous 2 rival leagues didn't have the money and backing that High Limit does and didn't have a broadcast/streaming deal. The late model world is thriving with 2 major leagues, there's no reason sprint cars can't as well.

Flo is better for the sport, cheaper, bundled with other sports, the original content they are doing is really good.

Flo racing has alot of venture capital money behind them. I think there's actually a possibility WoO gets bought out by flo racing in the coming years.

If this split harms Sprint racing irrepairably like INDYCART (I like to call the split that way) did to open wheelers this might end up affecting many small tracks too. Many of them wont survive especially with the "booming market" excuse.

It's very true. Especially tracks that have lost out on dates due to this. It's a huge part of their annual income. Everything seems good on the outside, but it remains to be seen what long term effects this has on dirt racing as a whole.

Seems like it would have been better for everyone involved if the Larson/High Limit group just bought partial ownership of WoO. If your issue is the outlaws arent paying enough, why not use your pull to fix the fact that ZERO outlaws races get live tv coverage? A summer package of tues/wed races with guaranteed cup drivers like Larson and Stenhouse in the field could have been shopped around to CBS sports, CW, or God forbid, Peacock

It is very likely that they considered this and talked to WOO, but WOO either wasn't willing to give up control or the conditions ( such as increasing race payouts) were unacceptable.
