In this video I discuss the newly released Squier debut series stratocaster electric guitar in dakota red finish. As a longtime guitar tech, I discuss the ins and outs of this guitar, give all specs and discuss the guitar from top to bottom. I also debunk several myths about the guitar, and several other "theories" that have been said on youtube that just aren't true. Not a fan of skunk stripes from a design and manufacturing standpoint it makes zero sense for any neck with a seperate fretboard.

Whats the point of buying an ultra cheap guitar and spending on components more than you paid for the guitar? Is it just to practice putting stuff on & off the guitar?

I've watched several reviews for this guitar. One thing I noticed was that when they were playing it, it went through a bunch of synthesizers before it made it through to my computer speakers. A newbe player is not going to own a $230 amp to go with a $120 guitar at first, nor will he/she know about all the pedals that make the pros (term used loosely) use in these videos.

Pro-tip on those tuners.... Loosen the screw. And cry less.

Wouldn't you be able to make a warranty claim for a defective bridge because the tremolo bar not seating and the tuner that doesn't function? Looks like manufacturer defects here.

It's nice to know some of the problems. That's so weird that the whammy bar doesn't fit. I'm not that experienced with guitars. I just want something that plays. This is really disappointing.

Definitely a lemon. Brought two, (one to mod,one to practice my playing and to beat on) both came in perfect condition. Sorry your experience wasn’t the same.

Good video. Nice to see a tech review a guitar.I would love to see videos of the upgrades you do to this guitar. This may be a good mod project for me also. I was curious about this guitar and being able to see a tech upgrade this will help me learn to work on my own guitars. Hope you do the videos of the upgrades. Would love to watch and learn from you.🎸🤘🏻

I purchased the Fender Debut about a month ago. Ultimately to mod and see what i come up with for improvements. Overall very pleased for the money, My tremolo bar works fine (although a little tight). Tuners are fine. I like your idea of the bridge replacement and tuners. May just drop in a loaded pick guard with Alnico pickups. Thanks for the review.

I'd be interested to see how the mods turn out and I'm sure others would. (ie, how good can I make this thing for a minimal cost). I wrote this guitar off because of a video that mentions the thickness (although I did consider just cutting a trem block down to size). It's very difficult to get an honest review instead of watching a commercial. Liked and subbed.
