Those interchanges are like a genuine tourist attraction. I have never seen any this big in Europe.

What a magnificent compilation, this is! It makes all the interchanges I have encountered so far so tiny.

There is only one 4 stack interchange in NC fortunately i live 30 minutes away from it

@@bridgediscovery1011 I live 2 minutes away from a decaying i-20 copy paste double t stack built in the 70s but it's getting a much needed rebuild

And 5 minutes away from the highest elevation you can drive in dfw, with a flyover ramp that let's you see the ft worth skyline Arlington stadium Irving downtown and a bit of dallas downtown

The state of Texas is famous for their interchanges and stacks.

Good video dude. There's definitely an element of awesomeness when looking at the stacks. I live right by the 183/Toll45 stack in Austin and am still amazed at the pure size of it.

Thank you, Stacks are definitley awesome and underappreciated works of architecture.

What's neat is that the stacks have increased significantly in number since this video was released.

@CosmoPhotography Thanks, it was a fun video to make! Keep in mind the cost to build in Texas is cheaper , no unions. The High Five was $261 Million, the Springfield Interchange near DC was around $700 Million.

Wow, this one was very unexpected, and not only because I thought you were taking a break through the remainder of 2010. I like the font you chose for your annotations in this one. Hey wait a minute, I didn't realize you went to Austin, too, lol.

@Billabongs122988 I don't have exact counts but I believe Texas has more stack interchanges, Texas definitely has more 5-Level interchanges. Considering I have never been to California I can't answer which has wider roads,

We're soon going to have a second stack in Shreveport, La.

@FreewayBrent Thanks, yeah, we went through Austin and San Antonio on the way to Corpus Christi. I was inspired but Friday's trip to NC, good to be back on the road even if it was a boring ride.

Very nice editing! Didn't catch your edited Texas outline at 0:20 until I watched it a second time. Creative! The fonts and transitions were also very well chosen. I can't even begin to imagine how much all of that infrastructure costs to maintain and replace when it eventually ages. It seems as if Texas allocates a lot of money to their roadways. Wonder how the rest of the state is doing? :P Great job, Jim!

@Freewayjim13 жыл бұрын
@MyMultimedia The 5th Level in Texas is for the frontage roads, look closely at the high five (first interchange in this video) the frontage roads is the 2nd level (US-75 being the 1st), I-635 the 3rd then the flyover ramps at 4th and 5th. In Los Angeles there is one 5 Level at I-105/I-110 with the 5th level being an HOV ramp.

May I ask what you do for a living Freewayjim? Considering you drive alot, but will often document multiple approaches for the stacks, I wouldn't think you're a truck driver (as that would be expensive and untimely for such an occupation).
