Yea it’s rare to find measuring equipment that are a dud, some are a few mm off at most. But that doesn’t matter to most people

Hard to tell with just a 7mm difference, but with any wall/floor there's always a chance of a little error, similarly a stadiometer on a wall might give an error too...

An error could be possible both ways, if u measure correctly at home it should be more accurate. Doctor measurements tend to be slightly inaccurate

If you are sure your wall and floor don't have a big slope/slant, then I'd say the home method should be fine... But 4cm is such a big difference. Maybe try to find another room or even friend's house to test your height and see what you get.

I know it is annoying as hell. Those people know nothing about measurement systems. What is also annoying is when they write someone’s height in feet in inches, they incorrectly write a decimal. For example, if someone is 5’8”, they write ,”5.8 feet” which is inaccurate because there are 12 inches in 1 foot, not 10. 5.8 feet is 69.6” not 68”.

I'd say morning, your evening height varies depending on your activities during the day, so, to take these variables out, you should consider your morning height

in my opinion the height that should be claimed is the height you measure about 3-4 hours after you wake up but there is no ultimate truth . I am around 176.4 - 176..6cm or so 3-4 hours out of bed (depending on day/activity) and I just would say "176 - 177" mostly when someone asks my height

Same with me at doctor I was 181 without shoes, and in the wall with my tape I was 185,3 without shoes that is a huge difference.

That's an insane difference. Maybe it developed an error! You might expect 1-2cm difference if you lean forward/back on a machine and the top of the 'beam' is only detecting the back (or front) part of your head - not the high point.

I know, I think it's a faulty machine, or my measueing is terrible. But every time I measure at home I het the exact same result corresponding to the time of day, regardless where I do it in the house. At most I get a +/- 1cm difference, and I can usually correct this by standing straighter, or being more careful with the aerosol can (which is hitting the high point of the head). On thing, I always do the measure with back to the wall, because my hoise is very uneven, and when I stand facing the wall it can add 2/3cm because the heels are raised in comparison to the floor where it hits the wall (the inclination is even visible to the eyes). But I have learned to use cisual marks to ensure I don't move the aerosol. Perhaps I should buy a stadiometer?

Well takeoff the vans and ur probably below 190cm. Do a proper at home measurement as well and see how tall u are. Stadiometers are usually never inaccurate but they can sometimes be a few mm off

@@shottie6325 i don't think so. I have measuring myself from the tape for years in front of a mirror and many times. My height at the end of day is Always 1,87m. On stadiometers, eletronics or no, my height vary from 1,82m to 1,84m. I buy the tapes height.

When lying down our discs aren't under as much stress as being upright, so are able to rehydrate (and slightly thicken) when we go to sleep. During the day, the water content of discs decreases very slightly.

Cuz our spines shrink from being up during the day for some time. It decompresses, and when u sleep it restarts it and repeats until u lay down or sleep.

Yes, the old blue stadiometer always gave 1/8th inch extra. I got tired having to repeat this all the time. The white one is much closer (feet/inches) to exact height.
