I didn't want Guatemala 🇬🇹 in the group as dem ReggaeBoyz 🇯🇲. Guatemala is a strong defensive side with an underrated attack. Our back 4 is going to have a time with the speed of Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 and Guatemala 🇬🇹 all-around game. I still expect Jamaica 🇯🇲 to win Group E, but it won't be easy. The team had a golden Gen between 06 and 14 with MLS mvp Carlos Ruiz and we couldn't beat you. Now that you have Bailey, Gray, Antonio and possibly Greenwood u will score 5 against us. They have Becker, who is a top 6-7 striker in concacaf, they have Haps who is having a good season at Genoa, they have players in place to build around, will they qualify? No, no way they are nicking points away to Jamaica, Costa Rica, or Panama, BUT they might surprise us and nick an intercontinental playoff spot

@alex1vid there is actually an article that explains this. The writer termed it "Colonial trickle down theory" basically, it explains that when a historical colonial power has a "golden generation" in soccer, that any former or current "colony" will also have a somewhat golden generation as well, due to "trickle down" he points to the USA and Jamaica benefitting from England's current "golden generation". He also points to Morroco's current success being from Frances golden generation, as well as developing nations such as Curacao and Suriname are able to benefit from Netherlands current generation.

What they already have almost half of the spots. Uefa have a lot of shitty teams too. Their is 48 spots it's shour be 6 concacaf, 7 conmebol, 8.5 africa , 8.5., finally 17 for uefa, with 1 left for the host.

Yes and no. Territories are often members of fifa in their own right. If you are from the US virgin island and you are good enough to play for the US but if not you can play for the USVI. There are many of these all over the world. Curaçao is Dutch, French Guiana is French, even Greenland is petitioning to join fifa and Concacaf.

I’d bet on Panama, Jamaica, and Honduras getting the 3 spots. Then Costa Rica and El Salvador get the 2 spots in the intercontinental playoff. I want to see Haiti get in but I think that El Salvador home field advantage will get them in.

The 3 host team should have had a mini qualification tournament. The winner qualifies as the host and the other 2 teams get dumped back into the Concacaf qualifications. It's very unfair that 3 spots were taken

Should be super interesting. But it does give me a bit of a lament with Guatemala and Honduras - I remember when Guatemala had a lot of promise with Carlos Ruiz. But then I remember more so Honduras in the mid 2000s when they had Carlos Pavon, David Suazo, Amado Guevara & Maynor Figueroa (and more)... they underachieved IMO.
