In the wake of brutal chaos Uprisings on Kalidar Prime, an imperial manufactorum in Segmentum Pacificus, the remaining company-contingent of Lamenters await the incoming retribution fleet, unable to escape the planet following the destruction of their battle-barge by Chaos suicide-craft. Striking before it arrives, a warband of Iron Warriors engages the Lamenters force in the remaining Imperial bunker system under the munifactorums.

Amazing work! In terms of improvements, I'd suggest trying to make things feel heavier, for example when the guy holding a heavy machine gun stood on the dead body for leverage, the gun and step felt too light. Also a section to improve upon would be just making movements flow smoother, there were multiple instances of animations that felt stiff. Still amazing work and I hope to see more from you!

@@Wolphenyoure on the golden path brother, i'd just add specifically the sound for the weight and bolters seem like they should be heavy stumpy BLASTS instead of like a small caliber shoota

@@Wolphen Also about feedback - i think the powerpack on the marine armor is a bit thin, or too long, i cant explain why, but this look unfamiliar. If put this to the side - look very interesting and i hope you will succeed

Literally every fan animation has used specific shots from Astartes - use the principles, not just the exact carbon copy of technique. This one is even paced the exact same.

Hey mate, your absolutely right 😂. Even though I only borrowed 2 shots from astartes, he was my main inspiration to start doing this, and I watched his animation so many times there's bound to be similarities. Either way though, I hope to find my own style as I get better with each animation and that you can still enjoy it for what it is :D

The only issue is that bolts are supposed to be caseless and the "casing" is melted off when firing so there shouldn't be anything ejected when firing

I didn't see any World Eaters. I will take your skull for my lord khorne. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!! Good animation. Like the lamenters, love the iron warriors. It's a bit stiff. Only one thing I didn't like is the Lamenter putting his foot on his dead battle brother.

I wont lie, this animation is very very cool and I like it, but suggestion: try to make things feel weighted, I'd suggest rewatching an animation you've made and seeing if it, to you, looks weighted, if not, add more frames of movement so it looks like it's moving 'slower' and is 'heavier'.

My one criticism would be the bolters look like regular machine guns. They fire shells as big as a can of soup, personally i sould gjve them a touch more of a kick While yes theyre automatic, each shell fired should have a weight to it imo

the models look good but all the movements are kind of Janky - you should either get a mocap suit to get some natural animations to work with and build a base of knowledge from - or just buy some basic animation assets of walking running shooting guns and same deal build your knowledge editing and playing with those.

Hey mate, thanks for the comment! I'm still quite new to the animation side of things, so I have a lot to learn on that front, as you pointed out. Unfortuntley,, as an amateur, I can't afford a mocap suit and movement libraries just don't transfer well onto Astartes. But yes, movemments are one of my points of focus - hope you enjoyed watching nonetheless!

Hey, thanks for the feedback, but I am a little confused on this one. None of the people (including myself) who I talked to after watching the animation seemed to have issues with the lighting - heck, some said the scenes were too bright for 40k! If you are referring to the apothecary scene at the end, where the dread is somewhat obscured, that was unfortunately unavoidable, as my relatively weak PC couldnt handle any more lights in that scene, meaning it was a bit darker than I wanted it to be. Cheers!

Hey mate, just wanted to point out bolters are cannonically confirmed to have 3 modes of fire - Full auto included, (the 3 modes being single shot, burst and of course full auto). Anyway, hope you still enjoyed!

Hey I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the animation. As I have stated a few times before, this is my second real project in 3D animation... ever. So yeah, I have quite the way to go to achieve any level of professionalism in these films. As such, I dont claim to be or even try to be on the God Tier level of Astartes. This is genuinely just an attempt to make something cool and entertaining for the 40k community. Hope you can value it for what it is :)
