Punk this and punk that. This is early acid rock. Say it, acid rock , there, see didn't hurt did it. In 66/67 nothing was more "punk" than dropping acid. Another fantastic video for fantastic music. Been listening to these sounds since the 60s as a youngster and relatively new to this computer thing( just got my very first cell phone in June 2022) and seeing these well done videos that you make is really cool. Yeah, I can get hung up on labels. Love my garage/psych/punk/acid rock.

Not many punk musicians in the 70s were hippies, but many hippie Musicians in the 60s were punks, Grace Slick and Jim Morrison were very Confrontational to say the least.

Thank you so much for uploading this, so I don't wear out my vinyl copy. Goddamn. This and the song 'Try It' from the same album will make your reality feel unnerved and cause your brain to reel. This is towards the top of the relentless Psych pyramid scheme. Pass the mushroom chocolates, please.

Yea, I was just about to say the same. I'd be curious to know if the Standells were at all known in England at the time, and if Peter Gabriel & Co. could've possibly heard this and used it - consciously or not - as the basis for The Knife

@jamesaron19674 жыл бұрын
Because many genres of music emerged in the mid to late 60s: garage, psych, punk, funk, acid rock, heavy metal, space rock, progressive rock, jazz rock, experimental, even electronic music. Some bands were wayyyy ahead of their time. Listen to Stereo Shoestring for an example of punk. There simply was no other decade like the 60s. Period.
