The door, you see, is no longer a contrived happy ending, but a symbol for you, yourself, freeing yourself from the game, leaving it behind, returning to reality, where choice and freedom is not a simulation. Try listening to that speech after you hit the off switch again in this context. I think it's beautiful.

The normal ending is great. I have to note though, that the irony there is that Stanley is supposed to free himself from orders and take his own destiny, but in order to achieve that ending, you, as a player, did exactly what the narrator commanded you to do.

the employee 425 easter egg is kind of creepy if you think about it..

Each time you finish the main ending, the final door opens slightly faster each time. This is how I got the speedrun achievement.

If the last one could've continued more this is what it would be "Stanley is finally free, BUT OH WAIT HE FORGOT HIS SUITCASE AND WENT BACK IN WITH THE GATES CLOSING BEHIND HIM"

Little did stanley know that his clock was broken but work is over everyone went home. Employee 425 is just the last coworker going home

I don't know why I found it so funny when the narrator was saying Stanley's name is a bunch of different voices 😂

Here's what I want to know: Why didn't 425 disappear? Does he hear the Narrator? If so, does 425 have his own story to go through? Did he and Stanley ever talk to eachother before the events of the game?

Even though you could never walk on sand, there's still a sound for this

"Employee 425" is actually Stanley. Yes it is. Because that is his same texture from the original game. Also, the reason why he is there is when you go too fast for the narrator, it shows something that Stanley is not supposed to be doing. That is also why the person is walking on the right side. Hey once I started playing after a few restarts and when I got out of the office and walk for a while the narrator said something like Stanley felt like if somebody was following he believed that if he turned around suddenly, he could catch his follower. I got scared D: Hhaha

The standard ending has always gotten me suspicious. It’s similar to the Portal 2 ending. Where a hell is lifted up a tube into the outside world. But I always thought that that was a projection. And she was actually transported higher up into the facility. And I feel the same with Stan. He is put into a seemingly peaceful paradise, free. But it doesn’t feel right at all.

Poor printer, he just wanted to be treated like a human. ;(

Ik I’m about 6 years to late but in the Microsoft paper clip Easter egg if you go in to a playback demo and fly up to it there’s really faint text and a speech bubble comming from clippy that said “it looks like you trying to control a vast number of slaves with an evil mind control machine. I just got a theory and I don’t watch or cared much about Stanley parable until now so I don’t know if this is a current theory. But I think that all of Stanley’s coworkers and his boss got turned into office items like the post it and the printer... it’s a bit creepy 8:53

Just commenting in the (unlikely) case someone is still gunning for the speed run achievement: You don't *need* to climb up on the desks/rails, or to wall strafe. While that will lower your overall time if you're going for a pure speed run, all that you *need* for the achievement is one of the shorter beginning hallways, and the narrator quickly letting you through the manager's office. I was able to get the achievement with the blue room (the one with the whiteboard ending), the narrator letting me through, and simply beelining through the Freedom Ending at the game's normal walking pace.

It’s weird. The Minecraft level, the play area isn’t made out of blocks, But The skybox is actually Minecraft blocks. Funny that

For the speed run achievement you can just save the game before you press the ‘off’ button then quit to menu and reload the game. Finish the game and you’ll get the achievement.
