The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game. You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will follow a story, you will not follow a story. You will have a choice, you will have no choice. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. This world was not made for you to understand.
But as you explore, slowly, meaning begins to arise, the paradoxes might start to make sense, perhaps you are powerful after all. The game is not here to fight you; it is inviting you to dance.

I think the most chilling part of this ending is the fact that the game doesn't end until you've left the original office...

@@TheBlackBoxWarrior65 lol can't believe I remember, but the fact you have to navigate all the way to that office... It seems like it'd be where the game cuts to black, but it's not. You linger there, see the details, then eventually leave to find whatever the "real" way out it. Only to suddenly cut to black, now knowing that there isn't one. The real office was a false hope, and you're now wandering this wasteland for an eternity.

G.: You were *scriptwritten* to be a moron!.. N.: I am not a moron!!!!!!!! G.: No, you are!.. N.: [makes Glados a potato, then punches Stanley down the shaft]. Stanley: [falling down]. G.: Oh, hi. So, how are you holding up? Because *I*'m a potato!!!! [fall ends. TSP continues in the abandoned office.] N.: [returns to finish this ending the way he does in TSP].

Portal made a lot of sense because The Stanley Parable was LITERALLY a Portal mod. Maybe Rocket League and TSPUD are made in the same engine as well?

I like that it's new and different, personally. Minecraft looks a lot less shitty now anyway, and "make dirt house" as a gag made a lot more sense when there was much less to do and what fewer blocks to build with. Plus the way you get to the old mod stuff just makes a lot more sense with Rocket League. I also find the dialogue in the new version a lot snappier

i downloaded a mod that let's you make stuctures that you can then generate in your world (recurrent complex) and made the dirt hut one of the buildings, so now there is a very rare occurring dirt hut with a sign saying "yes this is an stanley parable reference"

I'm beginning to think the Narrator to be the being of the "games" themselves. Stanley represents us the players, and the narrator is the "games". Like the concept of games itself

Honestly, I love the Narrator's rant in this version much more than in Ultra Deluxe. Here he sounds much more malicious, still mocking you for only pushing buttons like in the apartment ending. But in UD he was more like a kid arguing "NO, MY GAME, MY RULES. I'MA LEAVE. No, wait, where are you going-"
