Wow that brings chills like no other! This was by far the most beautiful performance of our anthem that I’ve ever heard. Being American, I’ve heard it a ton too. How this would have been incredible to watch in person. Trying to figure out what flag the young man was holding. If I remember correctly, it would have been around the civil war era maybe? Didn’t look like it was after the war but I need to watch it again and check the stars closer.

I attended the funeral of an African-Caribbean member of my staff called Sam in the Baptist Chapel in Harlesden, North West London 30 years ago. I was the only white person in the congregation and this hymn sung in their Caribbean accent was simply beautiful. I’ve not heard anything like it before. Afterwards whenever I walked through Harlesden black people I didn’t know would say hello to me.

THANK YOU!!! You might not know this, but it is extremely difficult to find a video that actually has the 4th stanza included. It breaks my heart that such a travesty of forgetting our history and slowly eliminating ALL the reasons in which we became the country and thrived for as long as we have!!! The power has always been in the blood. Blood of those brave enough to risk theirs; and of course, the only reason we can truly be free-Jesus. When we lost sight of our motto: "IN GOD IS OUR TRUST," the results were slow in occurrence; but unfortunately, they are coming in fast now.
