Dedicated to those who perished in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and United 93 on September 11, 2001. I love the picture of the Savior holding the constitution. It is sacred and many of my fellow Americans deem it as a thing of naught. May there continue to be enough good in this country that it may be preserved by the hand of God.

Joseph Pastore I don’t agree with Biden 2020 but I am not conservative ether I am a Democratic Republican something that existed before political parties were a thing and we were united I mean think about it political parties divided us

My name is JJ Beckner and I'm 15 years old. I watched this video because I love this song. I can sing all 4 verses from memory. I also love America. She will always be my country. There is however, a lot of problems right now. This presidential election has caused a lot of fighting amongst our people. This election doesn't decide who wins and looses, it decides whose going to be angry about who ever is president for the next 4 years. I personally don't care who wins. As long as I can stand up amid a crowd and proudly say "I'm an American citizen", then I'm happy. As long as we as one united, powerful people can proudly say "We are Americans", then I'm overjoyed. As long as we can look past things like: gender, race, religion, status, and political beliefs, then we as a people can stand with one voice and one confidence and say "We are proud to be American citizens."

@@EmperorofImorta Friend, we share very similar beliefs, age, and I can nail the 1st and 4th verse. Though I also greatly agree with the second comment adding to your first and fall in line with it. Especially with the need to return to being a God fearing nation again.

True, the USA was "late to the party." Neither The Great War nor World War II involved us at first and we wanted to avoid getting involved if it were possible. But when when things got ugly, we were determined not to lose.

Slaves weren't only black at this time, that wasn't until later. It was speaking of traitors (Obviously slavery is terrible and morally wrong but to them it didn't matter a traitor was a traitor)

I'm always conflicted when I hear the last half of the last stanza. "And conquer we must, when our cause [it] is just." Such idealistic words, but how well have we as a people stood by them? I only wish people considered those words before throwing the weight of our influence around.

The star spangled banner is a very beautiful national anthem for the USA. Is that true. Right the American revolution in 1800. Was jesus really in Washington, D.C. holding the constitution.

The USSR depended on US goods to move their troops. Particularly the 400,000 jeeps and trucks used for their supply lines, as well as 11,000 aircraft & 2 million tons of food. WWII was a true team effort. The Lend-Lease Act had a huge impact during the war.

The US truly did send a lot of equipment to the Soviets. The US (my beloved country) sacrificed much. We must never forget the terrible price paid by the UUSR (and Germany) during WW2. The cost just in the loss of human life is beyond staggering. God bless the USA.

Don't forget, the purpose of D-Day was to open another front against the Nazi's so the Russians could win, and since the Brits were already battered to 'eck, they called on us, and since we had already declared war because of Pearl Harbor, we came over to Europe. Also, Who do you think fought almost the entire Pacific theater? (I say almost since I believe we did a little help from the Aussies.)

BigJonB36 im an American Chinese and Mao didn't do anything during WWII, the Nationalists were the one pushing back the Japanese and sent 10,000 of there men's to help fight the Japanese in Burma and India

The word "slave" is mentioned in the 3rd verse, but does not refer to African American slaves. Indeed, the entire context of the verse makes it clear that it is referring to mercenaries (hirelings) and prisoners of war (slaves) that the British had brought in to help them in the battle. The Star Spangled Banner holds no reference at all to the old American institution of slavery. If anything, it is making reference to the British employing the practice in an effort to bring the former colonies to heel.
