You have to start somewhere, right! Just the small changes can give you encouragement to push forward.
There’s going to be a lot going on in the future, but we need to get our ship in order so as to make our life as easy as possible for when the chaos begins.
So many plans, but where do we start.
The front gate seems as good a place as any!
Then, the work shop which we now think we have a plan.
If you enjoy our videos please consider subscribing, commenting and giving us a thumbs up 👍🏼
One last thing you can do is share share share. Tell your friends you never know, they may like us. 😉
We visited Dan and Sindy this week from Simple Life Portugal.
They are the most wonderful couple you could ever meet.
Even though they are going through incredibly tough times, they still manage a smile and a joke.
Your love and support is seen everywhere.
If you dont know them, take the time to go over to their channel: youtube.com/@SimpleLifePortug...
Simply just watch their playlists every view helps them.
Cristina and I thank you for your support for our dear friends. ❤️
Thank you to everyone that has watched, liked and left wonderful comments. Without your love and support we would not been able to make these videos.
You are all stars!
Special thanks to everyone that has bought us coffee and generously given us super thanks.
Your kindness melts our hearts. Thank you!

The table looks great in it's new position!... and that huge court yard would look nice with a big round flower bed with a nice tree in the center, which would also make it cooler helping to shade all that expanse of patio that would be radiating heat all summer! Just a thought. 😉

I remember The Indigo Project had a real problem with leaking joints and tape, so they tried an old Portuguese product Linho Para by Grouht, horse hair I believe, and it worked where the tape didn’t. I hope Sindy can regain some strength and I hope the doctors’ conclave will come up with a tolerable treatment plan.

I use it with normal plumbing, but these kind of fittings don’t require anything. Fortunately I’ve fixed it now. So all good. Fingers crossed that the doctors come up with a treatment plan soon. It seems ridiculous the amount of time gone by. Thanks for supporting Dan and Sindy 😊

Hello James I have the answers to a few of your problems which I,m willing to share with you . 1st move the stairs on the front that go nowhere and put them on the back on the door that goes nowhere problem solved . I,m sure the builder had the plans turned backwards when they built it. Next I know your plumbing skills are very good but hire a plumber and let the problem be his problem. Next the privacy wall, now that you moved the stairs the options are limitless no problem . Your welcome keep up the good work . Lets all pray for Dan and Sindy

Hi Gerald, the stair case is structural and used to go to the flat roof before it was changed to a pitch one. Moving it would be totally impossible. The pipes are now fixed. It was a simple fix once I wasn’t rushing around multitasking. Thanks for your support for Dan and Sindy.

Well, you are getting lined up for the property reno. The garage getting done up will be great for storage and work space. I think you need to have some shaded areas in the court yard. The sun must be absolute murder. Especially with avocados, tomatoes...😀. Chow from 🇨🇦. 🙂👍👍

Consider adding a T-junction to the existing tap situated over the water pipe covered with gravel. This setup would enable you to wash your van and water plants using a hose. Additionally, you could install a nearby trough for various water needs. As for the area where you were cutting the vine, think about installing horizontal fencing. This would obscure the transit van and neighbors' view, while providing a pleasant outlook from the windows of your workshop.
@The-Quinta

Thanks Anthony, good call. Our plan is to raise the wall with some kind of covering. Once we repair it. It’s not an issue now, but in the future it will be done. Funny enough the guy that owns that piece of land is the village house neighbour. Good guy! We already have a tap there which will supply water to the workshop and garage, but we have been thinking of a trough just need to find an old one somewhere. Thanks for watching and the comments 😎👍🏼

James, would you consider putting up a shadow fence where you are thinking of putting the block partition? Hi James and Christina, thinking about your empty ground at gate...i suggest, a good raking over to prep soil for planting. Work the top soil towards loquat tree, to make a well around it. Three bags of compost each side raked or dug in. A few agapanthus plants and shasta daisy ones here and there will green and spread. Some rocks inbetw keep ground cool for plants in Summer. Then gently rake in your wild flower mix. A watering can with shower end to settle them. Weeds will grow again, but haul them out before they seed.Vincas, are tough as well, with their mauve flowers. Just check that when you water, it dsn't run away. I always make a well around new plants so water soaks to roots. Also in the hole before planting, and a handful of compost for a happy plant. My teabags and fruit/ veg peals, eggshells get dug in under plants as well. I love that old rusty brandy still of yours. Maybe a feature there too? Have fun!!💚💐🐝🐜🐛🐌🦋🐞

Btw, Christina, great choice and positioning of water wise plants. A bucket of water once a week should suffice. Love yr idea of scattering seeds. Californian poppies, red Flanders poppies,Linaria, etc. Seed themselves. Will look stunning.🌻🐝🐞🦋

Love all the various dining nooks, with your smart outdoor furniture.💙The weathered grey cement blocks in courtyard is such a child friendly area. Imitation grass for grandchildren to play/ picnic on, table tennis set, a swing,toys, umbrellas, great area to run around on...and keep out of parents way, while being watched.

I still think Cristina is wrong, you can cover a 3 meter wall with creepers, But you dont want to go against your wife, so do the shorter wall and when Cristina sees her mistake then you can build it higher. Put the glass blocks on the driveway side which has no view worth seeing and put all the windows on the far side where there is a view worth seeing, plus the air on that side will be much nicer and cooler than on the paved driveway side.

You mentioned the pellet burner, will you be doing an installation video? and with the cost of the pellets these days, why did you choose a pellet burner over A/C.
@The-Quinta
@The-Quinta 7 ай бұрын
I’ll show the installation when I put it in its fixed space, but for now it’s just temporarily fitted. The reason I choose it over A/C is because overall it’s cheaper to run and purchase. Pellets are 4.99€ per bag that last three evenings. A/C I would need 3 units to heat the house. Electricity is I think, 21 cents per kw 3500w output unit costs 70 odd cents per hour x 3, way more expense. Hope that clears that up. 👍🏼
