So just out of curiosity, I see the New England Company pop up. Is that also the Massachusetts Bay Colony, or a separate company? Or perhaps the precursor to the Massachusetts Bay Colony?
@HistoricalContextUSA

It was a precursor to the Massachusetts Bay colony. It was originally designed to colonize New England at the same time as Jamestown. This episode and corresponding playlist may be helpful: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/apd8a8KmrJfSlHk.html

After the Dorchester Company failed in Cape Anne, the Council of New England 🇬🇧 Parent Company authorized a new group of investors, bringing Puritans to Salem! So what was that Company called before King Charles issued the Charter for the Massachusetts Bay Colony?

After the Colony of Massachusetts Bay was established under Royal Charter by King 🤴 Charles back in England 🇬🇧 in 1629, what happened to the investors of the former Council of New England, which were themselves formerly known as the Virginia Company of Plymouth!!! Were the Council of New England investors left high and dry? Did they have any recourse in obtaining financial compensation from this new Colony of Massachusetts Bay??? Very confusing as to who was in charge of whom at any given time!!!

My understanding is that the company existed into the 1640s, but the original documents are very confusing when trying to decipher this question.
