Context: The Starvation Period was a time in Jamestown, Virginia where the colonist had no food/resources. The bad winter, new land, and tension between the Natives in the area caused problems. A ship which was supposed to be bringing resources had crashed and didn’t show up months later. When they did arrive, the 200 colonists had dropped to 60. They were malnourished and starving. There were multiple cases of cannibalism, which is why he had blood 😋
