I used to play this game a lot and mediums were always my favorites. I enjoyed most of them, but that STB was always a funny experience. The way you can make it work in completely unexpected positions is hilarious. It's kinda like when the Leo1 came out and you could race that into positions only light tanks could previously reach early. If you can make use of such a special characteristic the game used to be quite fun.

My favourite tank since the week it released, only tank i rushed free xp as i really loved its aesthetic and then loved the gameplay, most played by far.

When the hydronumatic suspension tilts the tank forward doesn’t it tilt the turret and front plate as well which doesn’t add an extra angle to the turret and front shell which defeats the purpose of using gun depression. My point being that a tank using 10 degrees of natural gun depression has the same effective armor on the front of the tank as the same tank using 10 degrees of natural gun depression plus an extra 4 degrees using a hydronumatic suspension.

I have been grinding bloc missions and fell in love with stb-1 again. I think experimental fire control is surprisingly good on it

I'm currently grinding the Japanese MTs line because of the event. I really want to get STB-1 on my hand for a long long time because of how MAD the raw DPM that STB-1 could unleash. I'm currently on Type 61 with 50k EXP to go for the STB-1, and I must say I fell in love with Type 61 play style with it's 105mm Rifled cannon. Japanese 105mm cannon is god-damn troll when the RNG is not on your side, but when it is, it feels amazing pumping up those damage to the enemy. And I like the gameplay phrase on Type 61, snipe and pump as much damage on early game, start to be aggressive and trade HP on mid game at mid range or assist on brawling in the frontline, then farm with it's lovely DPM on late game (if you manage to stay alive on mid game lol). But I notice that STB-1 playstyle is more of a spearhead in early game where you take crucial ridgeline cross-fire area and hope you pump as much damage as possible without losing too much of HP. Which is risky and could be expensive to play when you fail on that crucial ridgeline, as a F2P player, sticking with Type 61 might be a better choice as Tier 9 is not as expensive to play as Tier 10. But STB-1 is 1 second faster on the reload though compared to Type 61, which is so tempting to get, also crazy -14 degree of gun depression, literal ridgeline warrior. The overall Japanese MTs line is decent though, Chi-To is alright. Chi-Ri is very very awful that I ended up using 40k of my free experience and researching blueprint on STA-1 just to skip that absolute terrible tank, you can't pen shit unless you spam gold which is not the case as I'm a F2P player. STA-1 is alright, similar playstyle to Type 61. Type 61 is awesome beside the huge-ass cupola which ruin it's -10 degree of gun depression potential on ridgeline fight.

I think masterclass should be more about map awareness, when and where to relocate, tactics and how to deal with certain tanks instead of Min-max.

The gun of the STB is trollish. So for anyone wanting to pick that up, you have to relearn how you initially player the relatively awesome t8 and t9. Don't think you're as good as an Sconq hull down, people can smack your cupolas pretty well. This tank works best by just bein an annoying mosquito shooting tanks at mid range. Ofc you can hold your ground well against other MTs, because of your DPM, but don't think of this tank as an invincible sniper/hull down beast. It's just a fast firing tank.

I just ventured into tier 10 territory, with the Leapord 1, my first T10 tank, and I'm loving it. I'm working toward the STB-1 and am loving the Type 61 and really looking forward to the STB-1. Very timely video for me!!!!

Currently grinding it. STA-1 is painful for me because i am not that good (somewhat under 4k Battles with 49,4% Winrate) . Struggeling espacially on the corridor maps where Hulldown is King. I hope i get to the STB-1 before i lose my mind on it . ^^

So to anyone who actually wants to mark this tank and not leave it to the chance of the matchmaker, use V stabs, Hardening, Rammer Pick on the last field mod the one that gives more track hp, and for the second slot boost survivability, this gives 530 hp to your tracks, since you can quite effectively peek with your nose at around a 75 deg angle. Also for the most consistent damage in todays wot you have to fight the heavies, so not having Hardening is a huge missplay

Running my stb-1 with bond rammer, bond vents, and playing with the 3rd. Using an upgraded experimental mobility device. But also with bond vert stabs. Reload down to 5.17s. 4100 Dpm. Averaging 2600 dmg per match after 731 games and 79% hits. I absolutely love this tank.

If the stb is a samurai, the type 5 is a ninja.

Unfortunately I'm a WoT console player(the game is horrible) but I recgonized tge 3D skin you have on your STB-1. That is an *entirely* different tank on WoT console. It isnt a skin, its a while ass seperate premium tank that is quite OP. It's a Tier 9 premium tank called the Teefbreaka - it has a speed mode and a 15 round auto loader/autocannon. We got shafted with a 300 USD bundle for re-skinned Tech Tree tanks sold to us as premiums with different mechanics. If anyone is interested - tge reaining vehicles are: Reaper's Scythe(Object 140 at Tier 8), the Nemesis(E-100 but TD at Tier 10), and the Ignis Purgatio(Era 2). We did get ONE unique tank called the Leman Russ which is one that I presume is directly taken from the 40k Universe and plopped into WoT.

@quickybaby that isn't actually the ingame 30B, since according to the site the 30B there has 420 alpha, when in reality it has 390, the REAL ingame 30B is actually just behind the STB-1 in DPM, you can tell by the 390 alpha

This tank is fun but very situational. Its hard to perma track because everyone and their mother use hardening. A lot of times you are just trading shots or shooting and retreating over a ridge and 360 alpha can feel like a mosquito bite in those situations. Still I enjoy it more than the Udes nowadays because I just hate the Udes' shells.

This really is the most pay-to-grind line in the game, every single tank from tier 5 to 9 is garbage and you're basically griefing your team by playing them

I like the STB but I don't like the janky hydropneumatic suspension and the god awful accuracy when trying to hit weakspots.

I'm only mentioning this cause QB talked about the batchat buff and wanting to three mark it, but I feel like the Batchat, needs to be reworked or something instead of just a buff, To me i think like a partial autoloader and auto reloader system, like a 2 shot auto reloader, then a 2 or 3 shot autoloader. I think having a system like that be introduced on what was the original autoloading champion i think would be really fitting. Probably more like a 2 shot auto reloader, then a 2 shot autoloader, then by the time you've fired all 4 of those you will have one of the auto reloading shots reloaded or almost loaded to make it five for those moments where in the current batchat you would just go and assassinate a tank, but it needs more flexability, and to me i feel as if that would be a decent way to change it but also make it similarish to how it is currently played

You have to be a really good player to make this tank work. The gundep is certainly a highlight, but for me this tank is not working at all, I would rather play the E50M or the Centurion AX which has almost the same dpm, but more accurate gun, and better mobility overall.

The real problem with the gun is not the gun but the mobility of Stb 1, it's too fast compared to the t9 type 61 but somehow type 61 feels like it has the better handling. but the truth is just because of the mobility

I never made this tank work for me. Turret is not that tough and gun is a stuff of nightmares - it hits nothing. There are so many better meds on tier x

I'm amazed someone is making this tank work. The gun is horrible, the hull is paper and HE pennable and the turret gets penned in the cupola 10/10 unless you play someone without hands.
