Eric's wardrobe is adorable. I am loving the green tattersall plaid you sewed his pants with. I have been able to build up a nice stash of stripes and plaids by raiding my husband's closet. Most of the shirts are 100% cotton and excellent quality fabric too. I have since moved on to cutting up his khakis, jeans, chinos and twill pants also. They are perfect for sewing tiny jeans and pants for Blythe. Where there is a will, there is a way...right? Waste not, want not. Really enjoying your videos Claire.

Thank you so much Beth, I love my Eric. I’m finding myself scratching around for doll fabric at the moment, as most of my fabrics are in storage due to our renovation. I wish my husband wore more shirts. lol. Thank you so much for the suggestions, I love receiving tips.

I’m a doll collector, and I’ve made a lot of friends through collecting dolls. Stop making excuses, there are a lot of us out there! My friend is 61 and her mum is 92 and both collect dolls. Just enjoy and do what makes you happy. I’m about to make Alfie to go with my Luna and then I have two more Alfie’s to do, which I’m making as “memorials “ for a friend who lost her husband to Covid and my best friend’s dad, both passed away in December (so I’m practicing making one for me first!).

As always Claire you are great company whilst I enjoy some knitting and crochet time myself.It is interesting about being surrounded by boys...I have three brothers and I still at 62 love all of the girly toys,crayons stickers.My daughter did rebel against the pretty frocks eventually and refused ballet lessons as well as not being impressed by the sylvania families I bought her(me)😂 We are all individuals who eventually find our own style ! I think the community you have created are all kindred spirits !

Claire, your joy at receiving Hamish was so worth sending him! I’m glad he arrived safely. Highland cows (Heilan coos!) are such sweet animals and I’m looking forward to seeing how he turns out, but there’s no pressure to make him at any time soon. He’s just a wee gift from everyone who has ever been having a difficult time and found your videos uplifting and joyful. And if you ever need tartan for a kilt for Hamish, just let me know - I always have tartan scraps lying around! xx

Now you've done it. You introduced me to the wonderful world of Arne and Carlos. Now I have even more to be addicted to. I was just browsing on their site and want everything on it. I have to have the crochet floral afghan patterns, all of them. So gorgeous, and perfect stash busters. And their you tube channel wants binge watching too.

That’s wonderful Linda, I begged them to do you tube, and before they did, they were on other peoples channels but it was mainly foreign speaking. However I’ve only just starting watching them, as I wasn’t getting notifications they they had videos. X

Thank you so much Michelle, I do worry a little as most of my viewers are sewers, and dress makers. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dress makers have stopped watching my videos, however you are right I shouldn’t worry as long as someone enjoys them, and I enjoy doing them, it’s in that matters. X

@@ClaireWhoMakesThings There’s a whole internet community of knitters out there. I watch lots of podcasts as none of my friends are knitters. I sew too but a knitting addict at the mo. Don’t feel pressured just show what you enjoy making. Your videos are fab Claire just carry on what you are doing! Xx

I hear you Claire! With 2 grown up lads and a husband, I have a house full of testosterone but a craft room full of girly stuff! 😂 I’ve made 3 of the cool crafting animals - Luna, the mouse and the Fox but I think they need a polar bear friend now that I’ve seen your Erik! 😂😂❤️x

Erik and his coat are gorgeous. I love yellow coats! Loved seeing all your creations, knitted or sewn! I love anything crafty as you know so won't ever be bored with what you share. So funny about the cheesecake 😂. I'm with you for the all boy situation ☺️...however at the moment whilst they are still young they do quite like cuddly toys etc still. The crochet snowmen went down well for their chocolate oranges. I haven't done any sewing or crocheting yet this year...been a bit of a busy first week of Jan. My aunt wants some more sprouts so I'm not done with those yet! Xx

I really want Hamish, excited to see him all finished. Definitely needs a kilt……. Maybe you could do extra videos for the knitting club or Christmas crafting 2022. That way you can do things other than knitting and we can all have a Xmas crafting group, your own little makers group! Maybe we can do the odd live!

That’s a love idea Sharon, but I don’t think I could handle running any additional things. I have considered some extra knitting videos so not to bore the none Knitters. Hamish is lovely, I can’t wait to make him. I do my filming on my phone and I don’t think I could read the small text when people comment if I did lives, and I don’t have a person to read them out to me, as they come through as I’ve seen other You tubers do, plus it’s difficult to get left in peace for a live. lol

Erik looks amazing love his Outfit. Is Hamish going to be joining you and your family for Burns Night I wonder lol What a lovely present to be gifted from your friend. Thank you for the tips for the Balls knitting. I have one pair of baby mittens to complete and two pairs of Socks/Booties then I will be ready to start a Ball. Great Video as always. I’m having a little break from balls, so you’ll be able the catch up. I think I can knit other makes for a bit before I do another ball. This is my second time watching your Chanel. I am really enjoying it. I’m originally from Ipswich Suffolk, I’m trying to guess what part of England you live by your accent. Your chair is lovely and I love all your projects. Beautiful work.

Thank you so much Daphine, I’ve always lived and was born in a town called Solihull, it’s in the West Midlands, it’s just south east below Birmingham, and above Coventry. My Dad was born in Ireland but move to London when he was 4, and Birmingham when he was 7, so he is more Brummie than anything. Lol I try to speak in queens English but the Birmingham accent likes to creep in on a few words, as I pick it up from people. Lol. I’m glad that you are enjoying my channel, out of interest what craft are you into? I do a mixed depending on my mood, supplies and time. X

@@ClaireWhoMakesThings I thought there was a trace of the Beatles sound in your voice. Lol. I like to knit, crochet and any kind of hand work. Your doll characters have inspired me, not sure how I’ll do with dp needles but nothing ventured, nothing gained. my Grand-father was from Ireland, not sure of the town . A very Irish name Corcoran.

@@daphnestamey7989 Lovely Daphne, my Dad is from Mullingar in Ireland, I’ve visited there.My great grandfather was a Cobbler and a pig farmer and had a shoe making and repair shop. I love a bit of family history. I suppose Liverpool is only two hours from me, and from what I remember, the Beetles don’t have a strong Liverpool accent as I don’t have a strong Birmingham accent as some do. Many sports people and musicians settle in my area as it is so central to get to many of the major cities. X

Thank you so much Sandy. I have them in my craft room on a shelf, it’s nothing fancy, I would like some 6/12 sized doll furniture for them in an old style if I can find some that’s not too expensive, I medieval style doll furniture can be quite expensive. x
