The Stock Market Helps Everyone. Here's How.
I encountered someone who was not very happy with the idea of the stock market and the traders and investors who make up the community. They made a comment that real estate investing was much more ethical because it is actually doing something for people. Is this really the case? Let me explain just how powerful the market is for everyone, including YOU (whether or not you are an investor).

its amazing that people don't understand how important the stock market, and traders are. you would think after the last crash back in 08-09 and the impact that had on everyone, people would get the picture. You would think someone whos into real estate would remember what happened then.

To be fair, this person did eventually admit they were wrong. But I'm sure there are still others out there who feel the same way... which is just sad, so hopefully those people eventually change their thoughts.

Great video Clay, a very effective way to explain to the people why the stock market and also traders/investors (real estate included) does good and push the economy to grow.

Cool video, I like your points. But if there was no stock market, wouldn't companies just be LLCs and privately traded instead of publicly traded? Just seems their shares would be traded at a slower pace.
@claytrader
@claytrader 7 жыл бұрын
In that situation, there is "still" a market. It would just be called The Private Stock Market.

Whoever said trading is just sitting on your butt all day what do you call studying, research/planning, and executing (aka the same exact thing people do in real estate)? There are many people who simply have money to fund real estate projects yet they do no actual work or planning involved in the project but still will profit more than all of their workers (I know some poker players who invest in real estate simply to make more money and have a more sustainable income aka self interest aka what a lot of the real estate industry represents). Just as with trading there are plenty of people who wait for down times in the real estate market to profit off of other people's mistakes and misfortune. Even if traders sat on there ass all day how are they any less deserving than someone who works hard manual labor all because they chose to use their brain smarts to make money? In reality just as well as one has to maintain physical endurance in laborious work one also has to maintain mental sharpness and endurance in mental labor. Btw as long as traders buy Lamborghini's, McLaren's, etc guess what? PEOPLE HAVE JOBS AND THE ECONOMY CAN CONTINUE TO RISE . Traders pay for electricity, they pay brokers, they pay for internet and possibly many other things so traders help keep a lot of people their jobs. And speaking of advancing the human civilization don't get me started on the many negative affects real estate can have on our communities and planet.

Good video, I would suggest that a company's main goal is to create wealth, not jobs. However when they create wealth jobs will follow, assuming the employees are productive and can produce more wealth than what there wage is. Also by investing in real estate, that puts builders to work like toll brothers or kb homes, both publicly traded companies. It is a beautiful circle, capitalism is awesome.

Well with out creating jobs how could a company create wealth? As a computer programmer no matter how smart I am I know that the only way I or any company I work for will create wealth/raise capital, etc is by finding jobs and problems to fulfill and solve first. Jobs follow wealth but again if there is no demand for your skillset/job then where will you get money for your services?
@claytrader

Well said, but (the assumption I made), in order to "build wealth", you need others to assist (aka "jobs"). I do agree though, wealth is the main driver.

Hey Clay i got a question for you. If you're a holder on an option contract for lets say Ford; would you still collect a dividend if expiration is after the payout?

ClayTrader screw it, if they ever hit 100 I'm taking le money back hahaah. if TAP ever gets that high again. over long periods of time these bigger companies always tend go up in value. bonds are good but grow slow, mutual funds are in my option they're dumb. I think I'm gonna get into high frequency trading.
